Marilyn Manson is known as a shock artist. With every tour he does a new form of shock. He also goes by other names. One name is the Anti-Christ Super Star. The other name is the white emperor. In his shows, he does certain shocks. One shock was being on stilts during the whole show. Another one is that he would tear up a bible on stage and throw it out into the crowd. His most recent one is called Manson money. He will end up cutting himself on stage. He would wipe blood onto paper money that has his face one it. Then he throws the money out into the audience. In his most recent tour, people were very worried because he was evidently playing every show drunk or buzzed. This caused people to become very worried about him. They though he was going to fall back onto the drugs that he used to be on.
1. "Doll-Dagga Buzz-Buzz Ziggety-Zag"
This song is about how everything is changing. The song itself is a great song.
2. "Disposable Teens"
This song came to be after Marilyn was accused of causing the Columbine School shooting. One line is “my face is made for violence upon.”
3. "Lunch Box"
All about how to handle a bully back in the 90’s. Back when it was okay to take a metal lunchbox to school with you. And this would be used to handle a bully. You would use your metal lunchbox to beat them.
4. "Posthuman"
To me, this song is about how we’ve become numb to everything, and how we’ve let them shape us.
5. "Rock Is Dead"
This is about how rock has changed over the years. Plus how it came to a possible end.
6. "The Speed Of Pain"
This is about how people will cut you down. And how you get hurt with each break up but you hope they feel the pain you felt. “The hole in your *ucking heart is me.”
7. "Pistol Whipped"
To me, this is about domestic abuse. “You look so pretty when you cry.” “I don’t want to hit you but the only thing between our love is a bloody nose, busted lip, and a blackened eye.”
8. "Murderers Are Getting Prettier Every Day"
The opening to this song is very heavy and deep. And in general, I just really like this song. I can’t explain why. It’s a really good song.
9. "The Beautiful People"
The way the lyrics read, this song has a lot of meaning. It’s about how cops abuse their power. “… don’t bother to resist, I’ll beat you.” “It’s all relative to the size of your steeple, you can’t see the forest for the trees, you can’t smell your own sh*t on your knees.”
10. "Personal Jesus"
Now, this is a cover song from a previous band. In my opinion, this version is better than original version. The music video for this song is chilling but also captivating at the same time.
These are the 10 songs to get you into Marilyn Manson.
