Lately, I have had to overcome many challenges. From relationship problems, to an abundance of college work to do, I have needed a pick-me-up more than once. Often, I find myself turning to music to brighten my mood. I decided to put together the songs that help me remain positive to share with anyone who could possibly need some happiness in their day.

1. Float On by Modest Mouse

Anytime I hear this song, I am instantly reminded of Rock Band and how obsessed my family was with that game when it first came out. Whether you are a Modest Mouse fan or not you probably know this song. The beat to this song is guaranteed to put a spring in your step regardless of the day. It's perfect for people who have simply been having a bad day and need to realize "it'll all float on".

2. The Middle by Jimmy Eat World

This is another song that most people know but don't realize until they hear the chorus. Growing up in my house, it was impossible not to know the song, since my dad is entirely obsessed with it. This song is a great way to tell someone that right now you might be going through a lot but soon it'll be fine. The drumbeat and guitar chords are enough to get you out of your seat and dancing those worries away!

3. You Can't Always Get What You Want by The Rolling Stones

This song, though not as upbeat as the others, has a perfect message. Whenever something goes wrong in my life I constantly tell myself the exact lyrics from this song, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need." It's such a positive way to basically say it'll all work out in the end.

4. Raise Hell by Dorothy

I don't know if it is just me or if anyone feels extremely intimidated by a punk woman telling me to stand up for myself. Whenever I listen to this song, I instantly feel so much more confident like I can do anything. Especially when I am down in the dumps, this song is the perfect pick-me-up with it's punk rock style and bad-ass lead singer.

5. Sugar Town by Nancy Sinatra

Completely opposite of the previous song, Sugar Town is an all-around happy song. This song is about Nancy being just completely at ease with life, and if that's not a pick-me-up then I don't know what is. It's such a mellow song and puts me in a chilled out mood.

6. Puzzle Pieces by Saint Motel

I can't tell if it's the catchy beat or the fun lyrics, but this song is proven to make me happy regardless of what happened that day. It always puts a spring in my step and gets me up dancing. Saint Motel also has other upbeat songs that are guaranteed to brighten your day, and I highly recommend them!

7. All Alright by fun.

I think the title of this song speaks for itself. I love that this song is able to show you that life can be a mess sometimes but Nate Reuss shows you "it's all alright". This song is more of a relaxed feel, but I feel that it gets the point across

8. Love Never Felt So Good by Michael Jackson

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xscape_(album)

This song is extremely catchy so be aware you'll be singing it for days after you've listened to it. I always turn to this song when my day is going bad and it always make me happy. Michael Jackson is able to get your head bobbing and feet moving to any song of his.

9. Take a Walk by Passion Pit

http://pitchfork.com/news/46519-passion-pit-share-...

Take a Walk is a great way for you to just hear that sometimes you need to just walk it all off. Whenever I hear this song, it motivates me to do something productive and be happy. The song often refers to the troubles in their lives, and it's perfect for a person who's been having an awful day.

10. Just What I Needed by The Cars

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cars_(album)

This song is always a favorite of mine. I grew up listening to it with my dad. He would pick me up from a friend's house with this song playing in the car, and I remember us singing together to it. I always associate happiness with this song. It's very catchy as well, and the beat is so easy to dance to. I hope this whole playlist makes you happier and is "just what you needed".
