As we celebrate the holiday season, here are some songs you should definitely give a listen to or add to your playlist! These are some of my favorites and will definitely add some pep to your day as you gear up for parties, gatherings, and quiet time spent with your loved ones.

1. Text Me Merry Christmas (feat. Kristen Bell)- Straight No Chaser, Kristen Bell

This song adds a modern day twist to traditional Christmas music. I bet a lot of us could relate to being away from a loved one during the holiday season.

2. Winter Wonderland / Don’t Worry Be Happy- Pentatonix, Tori Kelly

This track is so cheerful and gets me feeling excited for all the joyous moments to come this winter break!

3. Last Christmas- Wham!

This song is such a classic. Your playlist wouldn’t be complete without it.

4. All I Want For Christmas Is You- Mariah Carey

Another classic. Mariah Carey’s whole album is full of peppy and energetic Christmas hits.

5. Mary, Did You Know?- Pentatonix

This song is slow and somber. I like that it brings a little bit of faith into the mix. It’s a very peaceful and thoughtful song.

6. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy- Vitamin String Quartet

Vitamin String Quartet’s albums are filled with instrumental versions of classics but this one stands out to me. I love this song’s energy and excitement.

7. Let It Snow- Straight No Chaser

A capella groups just have a way with Christmas music. Straight No Chaser again does a wonderful job with a holiday favorite.

8. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas- Bing Crosby

An old school classic, this song will definitely get you in the spirit of getting ready for the holidays!

9. Mis Deseos / Feliz Navidad (Duet)- Michael Bublé, Thalía

This song is super sweet and has a catchy melody. Michael Bublé’s entire album is filled with jazzy and cheerful tracks.

10. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)- Nat King Cole

This classic is a favorite of mine. This song will get you pumped and ready to celebrate with your family and friends in no time.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
