10 Song Lyrics About Success That Will Motivate You In 2017
Respect

If you're reading this, you're probably in college and are being faced with an uncertain future. This uncertainty can be absolutely terrifying if you're like me: passionate. I dream about my future and the possibility of major success in my field. However, success is far from easy. But with some of these tips and tricks from the music industry's finest, you'll be on your way to a great career and fulfilling life. From Kanye West to Lady Gaga, you're about to receive a lifetime of knowledge.

1. "Always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper."

Song: "Formation" by Beyonce

Bey always knows how to kill 'em, and she's right: be kind and show those who told you, "no," that you are more than capable of accomplishing your goals. Money talks, so you don't even have to belittle yourself and confront your haters

2. "The competition, I don't really listen."

Song: "Starboy" by The Weeknd

The Weeknd really knows what he's talking about as far as confidence goes. To be successful, doing you is the best possible strategy. Competition is one thing, but what you have is so much more special than anyone else. Keep perfecting your craft, and you'll get places.

3. "F*ckboys rather me not even breathin'.'"

Song: "Alright" by Logic (feat. Big Sean)

Big Sean lays it out pretty clear. There will always be people hoping and praying you fail, but don't you dare believe them. You'll be fine without them putting you down, trust me.

4. “I live for the nights that I can’t remember, with the people that I won’t forget.”

Song: "Show Me A Good Time" by Drake

This line is pretty important. Live for experience and the memories you make with your friends (or lack thereof). Life is pretty short, so why not make it worth while with the people that make you the happiest.

5. "Chase anything you have the passion to do, only a dream 'til it happens to you."

Song: "Opportunity Cost" by G-Eazy

If you have a passion, don't waste that energy inside yourself. Work at it, and you can make a life out of that passion. If you're good at it, never do that talent for free. Chase your passions and the kickback will come eventually. I promise.

6. “Remind yourself. Nobody built like you, you design yourself.”

Song: "A Dream" by Jay-Z (feat. Faith Evans and Notorious B.I.G.)

Said by one of the most iconic businessman in the world. This truth rings loud and clear: no one is like you and doesn't have your talent. Shape yourself, your image, and your talent, then use it wisely. You know yourself better than anyone else and can create an image that will bring you success.

7. "Every heartbreak makes it hard to keep the faith."

Song: "Million Reasons" by Lady Gaga

In life, you'll meet how many roadblocks that will make you want to quit. The moral of the story: bad things happen, but life will always move forward whether you want it to or not. You will be given a million reasons to quit, but never quit on a dream that you have a chance of making a reality.

8. "F*ck a wedding ring, I bought a necklace."

Song: "X" by 21 Savage and Metro Boomin

This will speak to anyone looking to fulfill their own dream rather than a societal expectation. Everyone has their own idea of a successful life, and this one in particular is certain: you don't need a partner to complete yourself, you can do that on your own.

9. “And I’ll just blame everything on you, at least you know that’s what I’m good at.”

Song: "Runaway" by Kanye West

In the song West admits to being a bad boyfriend to his partner. Being honest with yourself is step one to being successful. No matter if it's being honest about your past, your talent, or your dreams, you won't get anywhere in life until you admit the truth to yourself.

10. "Never waste a hoe's time, bitch I'm on my own time."

Song: "Low Life" by Future (feat. The Weeknd)

Again, if you want to get closer to success, don't waste yours or anyone else's time. There is too much at stake in order to accomplish your goals and distractions help no one. Do you, and don't let anyone else keep you from your future success.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours.
