Recently, I was inspired by a video my professor showed in class to ponder the small details I love about this crazy world. As the speaker shared some of his favorite things, like the way a stone leaves an imprint in the soil, I began to think of my own small things I appreciate about the world. Here's my challenge to you, if you read this article, share and post 10 small things you appreciate about this life you've been given. I find it compelling to see the smallest details people fall in love with in this world. Here are a 10 of my "small things"

1. The first few notes of a song you love

I'll be driving and whenever I hear the first few seconds of my favorite song, I roll all of the windows down and turn the volume all the way up. There's just something freeing about it.

2. The smell of fire

One of the most memorable moments of my life is driving through the mountains during the fall in the aftermath of some rampant wildfires, the smell filling the crisp air.

3. An amazing movie musical score

I usually listen to the musical score from a movie while I'm working on homework but there are moments I just have to stop and sit there awestruck at the beauty of what I'm listening to.

4. New book smell

I probably look like an idiot, but I'll just go through Barnes and Noble just to pick up a new book and flip through the pages for the new book smell.

5. A completely clear night sky

I have forever and always felt closest to God whenever I take some time to look at the stars. It's just so crazy to think of how infinite God really is and how he created all of that beauty.

6. The feeling of a flight taking off

No matter how many times I get on an airplane, I always will love the feeling of taking to the sky and disappearing into the clouds. I can't help but think about the adventure that awaits on the other side of the journey.

7. The harmony of all of your friend's laughter

Whenever I'm with my friends or family and we all just lose it are the most beautifully hilarious moments of my life. Those are the moments of pure happiness.

8. When the lights go dark at a concert or movie theater

Honestly, I lose all chill at the theater when the Marvel fanfare plays or pitch black engulfs an entire stadium of thousands of people waiting in anticipation for what is to come.

9. Remembering a childhood memory I haven't thought about in years

Every once in a while, I remember something about my childhood I haven't thought about in a while and I'll just smile like an idiot because I realize how those little moments made me who I am.

10. Finishing a journal

I can't even describe the feeling of closing a journal with words, life, ideas, passion, and pain from cover to cover. I'll always flip back through in wonder at the places God has taken me just in a year or so.

These small things make us who we are. Share your 10 small things with the world!

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. 6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
