10 Signs You Are Addicted To Dunkin' Donuts

1. You make promises to yourself that if you wake up, you can get Dunkin'.

I am anything but a morning person. Just the thought of waking up before 9 a.m gives me chills. The only way that I can really get myself out of bed is if I bribe myself with Dunkin'.

2. You know the menu backwards, forward and sideways.
If you are anything like me you have tried every coffee combination out there and know when they change the menu around. I have gone through multiple phases of favorite coffee. When I was younger french vanilla was my go to, then mocha swirl, mocha coconut, blueberry coconut, raspberry coconut and now caramel pumpkin swirl. Although I have “favorites,” I definitely do not discriminate against other flavors.

3. You are willing to wait in that 20 minute line, no matter how late you are.
“Oh, I have 10 minutes to get to class? Yeah, I have time for Dunkin'.” *Stands in line for two years* “Worth it.”

4. You go from zero to hero in a matter of seconds.

You aren’t yourself unless you have had Dunkin' for the day. Even just one sip can bring you back to your glory.

5. You have the pre-loaded Dunkin' app
I have gotten at least 3 free coffees from the start of the school year with the points I earn at Dunkin’. Just load money onto the app and pay for your coffee through your phone. It is a way of Dunkin' making sure you always come back. But baby, I will never leave you. <3

6. When it’s Christmas time or your birthday you ask for Dunkin' Gift Cards.
“What do you want for Christmas this year?” Oh, just money, clothes and of course a Dunkin' gift card. Someone giving you a card that gains access to the best thing ever? Yes, please.

7. You plan your day around Dunkin'.
"Okay, after this class I will head to the library, make a pit stop at Dunkin', finish homework and go to the gym."

8. When you hear someone talking about Dunkin’, you feel like you MUST contribute.
You could be 10 feet away from me, talking about Dunkin’ and the next thing you know I’m right next to you. We are now best friends bonding over how amazing their coffee is.

9. The weather does not stop you from getting what you want.
There were multiple times this summer where it was pouring rain out and I still got in the car to venture to Dunkin’. But do not worry, it was safe enough to drive, my parents made sure of that. My favorite venture against the weather for Dunkin' was last February in the middle of a snow storm. My freshman year college roommate and I ventured across campus in two feet of snow to get Dunkin'. It also just so happens that the dinning hall was conveniently right next Dunkin', so it was a win-win.

10. It is not a good day unless it is a Dunkin’ day.
I think this speaks for itself. The truth is, we all have our obsessions. Some are obsessed with cats, others with Chipotle and some are even obsessed with boy bands. Dunkin' will always have a special place in my heart even if they give me the wrong coffee.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
