Attending a state college in a small, college town, you can't help but imagine what your life will be after graduation. You've got every magazine subscription to every fashion magazine, you sip on coffee like it's water, and often times you find yourself living vicariously through Blair Waldorf on the Upper East Side, because really, what future New Yorker hasn't?
1. New York Fashion Week is your NFL draft.
You live-stream every minute of every runway show on your iPhone 6 plus. You loved Marchesa's 1920's inspired runway looks? Check my camera roll, I've screen-shotted them all.
2. You're constantly checking for New York-based internships.
Countless applications flood your email. Yeah, you took that long shot by applying to intern for Kate Spade. And yeah, you did get an automated response. But hey, doesn't stop you from filling out 6 more!
3. You are the girl who wears heels on campus.
So what? You feel good wearing booties and a peacoat to class because sweatpants and a hoodie are simply not an option.
4. You sit in class day dreaming of your studio box apartment.
Your plans of living out of a shoe box apartment with your Persian cat and Chinese takeout actually do sound like a dream come true. Although, you wouldn't mind living in that brown stone in Manhattan.
5. You've spent so much money on your New Yorker style, that you have no money for that apartment.
Help me, I'm poor.
6. You're a terrible driver.
Terrible drivers belong in the city and you dream of being able to call a taxi like your life depends on it. Therefore, you belong in the city.
7. Black Friday shopping in the city?
Been there, done that. Oh, how I love you Soho.
8. You and your bestie plan your New Yorker futures because while she's on Broadway, you'll be the next editor of Cosmopolitan.
Best friend goals at it's finest. Next stop, lunch on the steps of the Met.
9. You've got your Chuck Bass.
Now if only you could convince him to love the city as much as you do...
10. Last but surely not least, you see the true beauty behind the concrete jungle. You couldn't imagine living your days out anywhere else.
It takes no convincing to fall in love with this city. When your there, you feel at home. And as they say, home is where the heart is.
