Ah, Odyssey. There is nothing better than leading an Odyssey team and being an EIC. I have the privilege of being Editor in Chief of Anderson University's Odyssey Community, and boy is it a blast! Each week I get to edit my talented Content Creators' work ranging from videos to articles and photography based pieces. Along with editing, my main job is helping the community continue to grow, have fun, and share their unique voices with the world.

Here are the top 10 signs you're an Odyssey EIC.

1. Your Friday Nights are ALWAYS booked.


Sorry, I gotta edit tonight. Maybe next week. Oh, wait.

2. Being the "bad guy" isn't fun.

Articles are due when they're due. Don't hate me, please!

3. Making weekly and monthly goals feels like Christmas!

4. It's *You're not Your.

5. GroupMe is dead and you're basically talking to yourself

*insert tumble weed rolling in the distance*

6. It's the best when GroupMe is lit and everyone is participating!!


7. Making an editing mistake is the absolute worst.

I'm human, too. I'm sorry!

8. Trying to find new people to join Odyssey

You're talented; I want you!

9. Introducing a new Content Creator to the group

"Everyone join me in welcoming so-and-so to the group!"

10. Encouraging the team each week like


This is a glimpse into EIC life, and it only gets better from here! I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm sure my fellow EICs would agree.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
