1. Mondays Meant You Could Sleep In.

Late start always made mondays just a bit more bearable. Instead of the usual 7:25, school on mondays started at 8:10, and those extra 45 minutes of sleep truly meant everything!

2. Your Teachers Were Life Changing.

From Mr. Smalley, to Esch daddy and everybody in between, the teaching staff at CLC is incredibly passionate, caring, and hardworking. They are fully invested in their students, and genuinely care about their well being. If you talk to almost any student who spent time at Central, they will cite at least 1 teacher who was a big influence on their personal growth.

3. There Is A Picture Of You Hanging Somewhere In The School

Oh yes, who can forget all of the pictures hanging in the hallways of every single graduating class since the 1920's?!

4. Your Always Took All Of The Time In The World To Go To Gym Class......Unless It Was Choice Day.

Ah yes, choice day. The only times where anybody cared about Gym. Nobody can forget the days of rushing down to the locker room as quickly as possible to change, and then would trample over each other on the way upstairs so they could be first to grab their cards, and get in line for the activity they wanted.

5. The Stadium Was ALWAYS Packed For Friday Night Football Games, Even If They Were Away.

The Central Crazies Always brought the hype, and the volume. Our student section was as good as any.

6. You Hated South.

This one is pretty self explanatory. We hated South with a burning passion. Nobody really cared about Prairie Ridge because Central VS. South was the main rivalry in town.

7. When You Were A Freshman, You Probably Got Pushed Around At 4 Corners More Than Once.

4 Corners was ALWAYS a mass exodus after school when everyone was trying to leave, and the freshman were always getting toppled on when they walked slow.

8. You Embraced Diversity

Central is known for its sense of community and collectivism. Unlike most other high schools, it didn't have a lot of cliques, and everybody was very tolerant of one another. We were all Tigers!

9. You're Proud That You Went To CLC

I'll never forget the amount kids from other schools who always said they wanted to go to Central, due to the simple fact that its sense of community is simply unbeatable. In general, kids from other schools didn't seem nearly as enthusiastic about their school as we Central kids felt about ours.

10. You Wouldn't Trade Your Time There For The World.

Your high school experience was truly second to none!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
