Ah, the notorious Stoke Hall, home to over 600 freshman and sophomore students. Stoke Hall definitely has a reputation on campus at the University of New Hampshire. Anyone you meet on campus definitely has a story or opinion on Stoke Hall and the people who live in it. But, to the people who actually live at Stoke, hearing about everyone's opinions (usually negative) definitely get a little annoying and outrageous at times. Here are 10 signs you live in Stoke Hall!

1. The elevators are always broken.

Waiting for the elevators is tedious enough, let alone if there is only one running. Props to the people who live on the eighth floor.

2. Stillings is bae.

Forget about Hoco or Philly -- having Stillings right next door is much more convenient.

3. Wild Kitty is your go to 1 AM snack.

Wild Kitty is major key after a night out.

4. You live in a forced triple.

If you're a freshman, it's very likely that you live in a forced triple or know someone who lives in a forced triple.

5. Williamson and Christensen are foreign to you.

What do you mean you live in a tower?

6. You constantly hear, "Isn't it always crazy?" and "How do you get work done?"

*rolls eyes in the back of head*

7. Going out is easy with Frat Row less than a minute away.

You don't have to think about making a trek across campus to go to a party.

8. You see a new face everyday.

With over 600 people living here, you are constantly running into new people whether you are in the elevator or just walking down the hall.

9. You immediately bond with people who live or lived at Stoke.

It's always exciting when you go out and meet someone who lives/lived in Stoke.

10. No other dorm feels like home.

Your roommates and floor mates are basically like family and Stoke will forever be your home away from home.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
