Well, the day is finally here. You are ready to go back to college after a long winter vacation. Vacation is fantastic, and it is wonderful to be home with family and see high school friends, but sometimes, it might feel a little too long, if you know what I'm saying. Break makes you miss college, and college makes you miss the break. Here are 10 ways you know it's time to go back:

1. Your parents' kindness wears off on you.

I mean, seriously! How are they so kind all of the time? How are my parents so amazing? They make me breakfast and treat me out to ice cream and dinner. I'm not nearly as kind as they are! The struggles.

2. There are so many shops in your hometown and you can't pick which ones you want to squeeze in going to before you go back. When you got home, it was fun to choose. Now? It's just too complicated.

Ugh, it's so hard to decide! Do I go to an ice cream shop? Which one? out of four? So many possibilities! Too many choices of entertainment!

3. You have so many incredible high school friends that ask you to hang out, and you really want to see all of them! But it becomes hard to fit in!

Yet, I still make it work. Because I love my friends. Thank you all for being amazing! I'll miss you when I go back!

4. You get bored at home doing nothing. Sigh.

And you worked so hard at school! Now you have nothing to do? At the beginning of break, that freedom was great! Now? Oh, let me think about it actually. It's still great!

5. You finish taking a winter course online and have two days of freedom. WHAT DO I DO?

All this freedom is so confusing. What the heck do I do? I actually have to enjoy the last weekend that I'm home and socialize with my awesome parents for two days? What?

6. Your parents start to annoy you with profound advice.

I hate when they are right.

7. Your mom says that she will miss you when you leave!

Gosh, mom! Don't make me emotional!

8. You miss the dining hall food.

Okay, I'm not even going to pretend this is the truth! My mom and dad's cooking? Way better than the food at college!

9. You miss your college friends.

But there are so many ways now to communicate with friends! Through Facebook, texting; there are numerous ways to stay in touch!

10. You start thinking about your next semester schedule.

Oh no, here we go again.

When you think about it, being at home with your parents is amazing. Sure, they can get on your nerves from time to time, but they are always going to be there for you. I'm so blessed to be able to hang out with my incredible parents. Thank you for all you do.

To everyone going back to school, good luck! And to my parents who have had me at home for the past four and a half weeks, thank you for everything you have done for me.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
