18 Signs It's The End of the Semester, As Told By New Girl

Most students in college can agree, we all have a love-hate relationship with the end of the semester. It is an exciting time because you are ready for summer and the end is almost near. However, the end of the semester also means finals, moving out of your dorm, pulling all-nighters, feeling sleep deprived 24/7, and eating your body weight in late night pizza deliveries for your never ending study sessions. It probably feels as though the semester may never end, but here are 18 signs that you know it is the end of the semester, so hang in there.

1. It finally sinks in that you are about to take your finals...and you have not started studying.

2. On top of trying to study for finals, you have to pack up your dorm room and move out, leaving behind all of the memories you made there.

3. You are fighting a constant battle of studying for a few more hours to ace your final or squeeze in a few hours of precious sleep.

4. You start resorting to new ways to destress during finals week.

5. On top of studying for finals, you also have to turn in a crazy amount of essays and reports only to find yourself having a very unfortunate case of writers block.

6. Due to being sleep deprived, you find yourself falling asleep in weird places around campus, hoping no one saw you or heard you snoring.

7. You begin to realize you have not left your dorm room in almost a week and are becoming a study hermit.

8. You find yourself binge watching Netflix and Hulu more than usual and procrastinating studying.

9. Before you know it, your first exam is here and you do not know how to feel about it.

10. The only motivation getting you through finals is knowing you are about to go home soon where you will never stress and never starve.

11. And being home also means not stressing about being broke all of the time.

12. As the end draws near, you begin to find yourself more irritable and on edge than ever before.

13. You are fearful of checking Blackboard and finding your exam grades.

14. But when you check your grades, you find that all of the late night studying and all-nighters really did pay off.

15. And now it comes down to your last final on your last day of the semester and you have become an emotional mess of stress and sadness as you reminisce on your first year in college.

16. But the feeling of walking out of your last final knowing you aced it is unlike any other feeling.

17. And finally getting all of your exams grades back and ending the semester with a bang.

18. Now you can start your summer stress free.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
