The process of selecting a college to attend is a pretty daunting one. What does it really mean to pick the "right" college? How do you know when you've found it?

For those currently trying searching for the answers to these questions, you are in luck. Here's our list of 10 Signs You Belong At Stonehill College:

1. You appreciate having a smorgasbord of educational options.

With over 80 majors, minors and programs for you to choose from, Stonehill College offers a wide variety of educational avenues students can explore throughout their four years here. However, if you are the type of person whose head hurts at the thought of having so many options, fear not! Stonehill's excellent academic advisers can help you figure out exactly what you want. Talk about getting your money's worth!

2. You value good leadership.

When it comes to its leadership team, Stonehill College is on top. People like Father John Denning, Father Jim Lies, Pauline Dobrowski, Tom Flynn, and Joe Favazza (among others), work so hard to make sure the interests of students are represented. Pick any other college in the country and we can guarantee you that its leaders don't care about their students as much as Stonehill's do. These people help make Stonehill a truly special place (especially when they buy us yogurt).

3. You enjoy excellent service.

Four words: Patty from the bakery. Need I say any more? Patty, who has become a Stonehill institution unto herself over the years, is just one of the shining examples of people who provide such excellent service at the college. Stonehill's employees, from teachers to office workers and cafeteria workers to custodians, pride themselves on giving students service with a smile.

4. You love the color purple.

Stonehill College is so closely associated with the color purple that we almost have grounds for copyrighting it so nobody else can use it. The only individual who might be able to give us a run for our money in that regard is Barney the Dinosaur! We've got everything in purple here: purple spirit wear, a purple mascot, and, heck, even purple crosswalks. So, if purple is your favorite color or people have told you it makes your eyes pop, you most definitely belong at Stonehill College.

5. You have an undying love of tacos.

Stonehill College takes Taco Tuesday very seriously. In fact, Tuesdays are probably the most important days of the week on campus, even more so than exam days (just kidding...kinda).

6. You want a safe place to go to school.

Stonehill's finest, led by Chief Carnes, work around the clock to ensure that students don't have to live in constant fear while at school. Stonehill's police officers perform their duties to the best of their ability and do so with smiles on their faces. Not only are they concerned with the safety, they also take the time to get to know the people they are trying to protect.

7. You value your faith.

Being a Catholic college, Stonehill has a number of faith-based activities that allow you to explore religion in a deeper way. Campus Ministry and other Stonehill groups like it offer a number of programs that help students consider issues of morality and what it means to be a follower of Christ. However, if religion is not your thing, don't worry! We don't discriminate here!

8. You appreciate the finer things in life.

You know that phrase, "This is why we can't have nice things"? Well, that definitely does not apply at Stonehill. When you consider all the great things we have, from our lush green lawns to our top-notch sports complex to our fabulous science center, it is clear that Stonehill's leaders are making every effort to give students the best when it comes to campus facilities. In that sense, we are so very spoiled!

9. You enjoy having the opportunity to get out of the "college bubble."

If you're the type of person who gets a little stir crazy when they have to be in one place for too long, Stonehill College has options for you. The school offers a number of study abroad programs. In recent years, students have gone to countries like England, Ireland, France, Amsterdam, and Germany, among many, many others. Additionally, the college offers an intern away program that allows students to gain work experience in Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C.

10. You are looking for a place you can call home.

To steal a turn of phrase from Dorothy Gale, there's no place like Stonehill!

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
