Sitting around the campfire, hiking through the woods, getting bug bites where you had no idea you could. Am I bringing back any memories for you yet? As a program aide, you have many good memories that will last a life time. And once your girls get to the age of being a PA, they make you feel old, even if you aren't. Whether you've have only been a program aide for one year, you're a veteran PA or you've finished your years as a PA and are now considered an "adult" (scary I know), you can definitely relate to list.
1. Making 40+ nametags
Which the girls will take them and put their camp name on and destroy the hard work you put into them.
2. Camp shirts galore
You're always excited to see the design/color for the year. You don't even get tired of having to wash it every night since you have to wear it every day of camp.
3. Hikes
It's not Girl Scout Camp without hiking through the woods and singing camp songs at the top of your lungs.
4. Crafts
You know that at the end of the week once the girls go home they are just going to throw away them away, but you still put all your energy into preparing the crafts.
5. Games
Such as Frog Detective, Poor Kitty, Elbow Tag, Wax Museum, Ships and Sailors, Miss Sally Walker — oh the memories.
6. Free time/Being forced inside
When you run out of things to do or it starts thunderstorming, so you have to move inside and play board games.
7. Decorating nametags
(Side note I am being considered an adult this year....scary)
8. Boredom
When you aren't needed at the moment, so you make random things, such as signs with your camp name on it.
9. Bug funerals
You always have that group of girls that is really interested in bugs. This year it happened to be a slug, but then it died, so of course they had to have a funeral and had to bury it.
10. Girls hanging on you
Without a doubt there's always at least two or more girls that claim you as theirs and never want to let you go.
