10 Signs You and Your Best Friend Go to School in Different States

1. You text all the time. Even though you both are on completely different schedules, you are always texting each other about everything. You text each other about people the other doesn’t even know about. Most people would just say, “Who cares I don’t even know them”, but your best friend says, “OMG you better hope I never see that girl or so help me”.

2. You tell your best friend about that smoking hot upperclassman guy in your class and she knows who you're talking about because after all you do refer to him as your husband since that totally is in the realm of possibilities….not. But you and him totally made eye contact during class and, I mean, he may just as well proposed to you then and there. Naturally you have to tell your BFF about such an interaction.

3. After every night out, you have to facetime about all the crazy things that happened and then proceed to talk about how you can’t wait to go out with each other for the preceding 30 minutes. After that chit-chat, you finish the convo off with all the embarrassing things you did. They proceed to tell you how dumb you are, laughing because it's so typical.

4. When your best friend comes to visit you and you walk in the party like….

5. You say a joke out loud to your college friends and no one is laughing nor do they understand the joke because it was something only you and your best friend would get. Awkward. But at least you know your BFF would totally die laughing at it.

6. Every other day you talk about how much you miss each other. It's a very emotional roller coaster we go through not seeing each other every day, especially since whenever you are around each other some really poor, BUT hilarious, decisions are made.

7. When you are finally reunited it is the best feeling IN THE WORLD. It is like the stars realign and you are finally with your home girl, your main squeeze, your partner in crime, the PB to your Jelly. In the summer things finally are back to how they are supposed to be; hanging out non-stop, making stupid decisions and jamming in the car to outrageous tunes.

8. When the time comes to start packing for school again and you both are just like...

9. Although you know it's going to be okay because the cycle will continue and I mean come on, no one can actually replace your BFF

10. Lastly, no matter how many times you are your best friend depart ways some tears will always shed as you call them a loser while they drive away. Being away from your friend is the worst feeling in the world, but all you can do is suck it up, you know your relationship will never drift.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
