10 Signs You Are From Williamsburg, Kentucky
Della Caroll

Where ever I go in life, my heart will always be in Williamsburg, KY. Our community is a type of place where everyone looks out for each other. I'm proud of where I come from, and I love the people who have watched me grow up. No matter who you are, if you are from Williamsburg you can definitely identify with the following.

1. Friday nights means Friday night lights.

2. Roddy Harrison is THE man.

3. If you want to go somewhere to sit down and eat, you go to El Dorado's.

4. If you're still in high school, you probably dislike Corbin for some reason.

5. Old Fashioned Trading Days is the event of the year.

6. Town seems desolate when the college is out for summer break.

7. You have either been to the waterpark, worked at the waterpark, or watched the waterpark's fireworks at some point in your life.

8. You avoid Wal-Mart at all costs at the first of the month.

9. Getting a donut shop has been the greatest thing to happen since sliced bread.

10. If you want to see a movie, go shopping, or eat somewhere other than Mexican, you have to go to Corbin at least.

I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
