10 Signs That You Are A New Jersey Driver

The speed limit is not 65 miles per hour, it's 90.

There is a common myth that New Jersey is home to the worst drivers in America. This statement is quite false - people just do not know how to drive when they are within the borders of our great state. There are several distinct signs that you have the characteristics of a New Jersey driver.

1. You read speed limit signs as 20 MPH more than they actually say.

For a majority of the Garden State Parkway, the speed limit is 65 mph, but in reality, you drive around 85.

2. You get annoyed when someone is driving slow, meaning that they are driving the actual speed limit.

There is nothing worse than knowing that you have to be somewhere in about 10 minutes, but the person in front of you is driving like a snail. However, you look down at the speedometer and realize that they are driving 40 mph when the speed limit is, well, 40 mph. Oops.

3. You are an avid tailgater.

Those pesky slow drivers really upset you so you feel that it's necessary to scare them a little bit and drive right up their butt.

4. But you really get angry when someone tailgates you.

Excuse me, but the speed limit is 40 mph and I am driving 55...is this too slow for you? Get lost, buddy.

5. You have THE WORST road rage.

Did someone cut you off? Give them the finger. Is the light green and the person in front of you isn't moving? Honk your horn and utilize your vulgar language. Did that person change lanes and almost hit you? Roll down the window and have a nice conversation by cursing and screaming at them.

6. You believe that yellow lights have the same meaning as green ones.

The light just turned yellow...time to floor it and go!

7. Speed bumps do not exist to you.

I mean, you know that they are there, but it's more fun to not slow down and just go flying over it...because why not?

8. Four-way stops are the worst.

You never know who got there first, or who is supposed to make their turn next. These traps are basically just a trigger for your road rage.

9. You want to jump out of your car window when someone from another state drives slow in the left lane of the highway.

The. Left. Lane. Is. For. Driving. Fast. Get. Out. Of. The. Left. Lane. If. You. Are. Driving. The. Speed. Limit. Or. Less. Especially you Pennsylvania drivers, you guys are actually the worst...no offense, pals.

10. You think that your driving skills are superior to everyone else's.

Honestly, this is true. All of the other states are not as fast-paced as New Jersey and need to get on our level. So stop hating on us NJ drivers and start learning how to be decent drivers.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
