There are so many qualities or situations that go to show that you are a sorority girl, so here are just 10 signs and reasons you're unmistakably a sorority girl:

1. Recruitment

Recruitment is the most stressful, but also the most fun time of the year. Even when you're a member, bringing new girls in is still stressful. Meeting new girls who you feel like aren't the best fit, or meeting new girls that you want more than anything to join can lead you to stress more than any other time during the year. Most girls develop a "rush crush" during recruitment and it's hard to not show it when you talk to her. When you meet a girl that you want, you can't just give it away. It's also the most fun because just the whole idea of bringing new girls in is so exciting.

"Being a sorority girl to me means being more than the stereotype. It means being a well rounded person and being involved in many things on campus and off campus. It isn't even just growing yourself it's about helping the people around you. Being in a sorority gives you a community of people to go and talk to whenever you need them. It means being a part of something bigger than yourself." - Nicole Papas, Saginaw Valley State University, Kappa Tau Epsilon

2. Wearing Letters In Public

A lot of people are going to look at you funny when you wear letters in public. On top of that, they're probably going to stare at you longer. Just remember that most of the time, they're trying to figure out what letters are on your shirt. They may even try to connect your face with the idea of you bing a sorority.

3. Rude Remarks

Whenever you hear someone talking about Greek life or whenever you see things on social media bashing Greek life, you feel the need to jump in and stand up for yourself. Too many people are stereotypical with their ideas about sororities and you feel like you need to enlighten them about what sororities really are.

4. You're Proud To Be A Meerkat

Even though you hate being compared to an animal, you've got to admit that their poses are a lot like yours.

"Being a "sorority girl" to me means never a boring walk to class and brighter moods. Even when I'm having bad days I always run into a sister, or even someone in other organizations we reach out to. I can always count on them to wave, smile, or say hi and it makes my day that much better." -Courtney Territo

5. Time

There is at least one day a week dedicated to sorority events. Meetings, service, sisterhoods, and elections will probably take up your whole day. If it's not mandatory, it's just a day well spent with sisters. On top of that, a majority of your time is spent thinking about what you can do to better your sorority or what events you can plan next. It seems like all of your time is spent with your sorority- in a good way.

6. Friends or Sisters?

A majority, if not all your friends are sisters already. If you call them your best friend, or your sister, it doesn't matter. You're connected through a bond that no one can break.

7. Family

You love your grand big, big, little, and grand little more than anything. You look forward to the typical family photos together and all the family time spent together.

"Sisterhood teaches you life lessons to be a good human being and a strong leader. We have passion for our philanthropy and other Greek organizations. I hope to continue to build strong relationships in my sorority and throughout Greek life." -McKenna Vella, Grand Valley State University, Alpha Sigma Tau

8. Social Media

Your Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are full of sisters. Sharing other posts about sororities and sisters directed at sisters, posting pictures, or tweeting at your best friend/sister about how much you love them. Most of the time, us sorority girls are so intertwined in one another, we can't stop talking to each other.

9. Philanthropy

You spend so much of your time planning and executing philanthropic events. A lot of people think that sororities are about partying, when in reality we're focused on giving back to the community. Almost every sorority across the United States has adopted an awareness or a cause to help give back.

"Being a sorority girl means more than just wearing letters across my chest and hanging out with “frat boys”. Living so far from home can be tough, but knowing that you have a home up at school with girls who turned into family is definitely worth it. Sororities are NOT all about partying. Sororities around the world work hard day and night to raise money and awareness for a number of philanthropic events, and they do this because that is what makes them so special. Being a sorority girl has allowed me to come out of my shell and to look past my social anxiety. I am more confident now, I am more comfortable with myself, I am more me." - Chelssee Moreno, Northwood University, Alpha Chi Omega

10. Mixers

Mixing and meeting other organizations members can be promote Greek unity and make you into an all around better person. Even if they aren't in Greek life, they can open your eyes to a new perspective. You never know, you may meet your best friend or soul mate.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
