Ever wonder when the one book your reading has captured all of your attention and in many cases your hear? Here is a list displaying some characteristics of reader who enjoy's his or her book.
1. Time Does Not Exist.
This one is 100 percent true. Every person who has ever been engrossed in a book knows this. When your eyes are moving left to right from page to page and then chapter to chapter, time passes in a blur. You take a quick look at the clock and then again a second later, but you realize it's actually been hours since you have looked up from the book.
2. Characters Become Real.
The characters come to life and they jump out of the pages into both your mind and heart. You start to see them as real people walking around the planet at that very second. You can picture them going through their daily lives and each time you read, they continue with their story.
3. Emotions Become Real.
When you read what the character is feeling, you go along for the ride. Even when there is nothing really going, you feel emotional seeing the story continue. When the book hits its climax, you feel exactly what the character's are feeling.
4. Forget To Sleep.
Sleep is overrated when there are still words to read. Just another chapter is the mantra that keeps going through your head when the chapter is over. This leads to more than one chapter, and results in more than one hour of sleep lost. It's taken by the characters. Yet, in the end, there are no regrets.
5. Can't Wait Until Bedtime.
When there is no free time during the day to read, the only time is right before bed. This is the time to relax and stop and this is where the book is opened up again. No one will bother you because everyone else has already gone to bed. The only thing that is awake is your mind and the story that takes it over. This is the time that is craved all day. It can't get dark fast enough.
6. Running Out Of Positions To Read.
Everyone knows that staying in one position for a long time isn't comfortable. After reading for awhile, it's hard to find a spot that won't feel uncomfortable, making sure the page can be seen while your head is on the pillow because your body is tired.
7. You Get Inside Jokes.
When you start reading a series with multiple books in it, the author puts jokes or pieces of information from one story into another. This is especially true when the series is continued but with different main characters, yet they interact with the other main characters. You can pick up the double meanings or the actual stories behind people that the author has sneaked into the current story.
8. Making Random Noises in the Middle of the Night.
When the emotions are all riled up from the story and something exciting happens, there are bound to be noises. Usually, it's a scream but you try to mute it with a pillow so you don't wake anyone up.
9. Sharing With Others.
A book this good will make you want to share it with anyone and everyone. This book has to be shown to those who are sadly not aquatinted with it. This leads to the next sign.
10. Coming Back To Reality.
Realizing that no one else is into the book as much as you are is the hard part. Coming out of the story world and into the real world becomes a struggle. In this life, you are who you are, but when you're reading you are not anyone just a bystander watching everything. Stepping out is harder than just closing the book.
What Comes Next?
This question lingers in your mind as you are nearing the end of a book. Maybe there's a following book?
