Juggling schoolwork and sports is no joke. Adding hours of practice on top of 35 hours of school a week may be hard, but for the love of the sport, who wouldn't pull through? Here are some common moments and experiences that every lacrosse player share:
1. Coach yelling: "Keep your eyes on the swivel!!!" as an opponent tries to score
2. Ref telling you that your stick is illegal and that you can't play until you've retied it
3. Practicing (and failing) with over-the-shoulder catches
4. Wincing at the red marks, or better yet, lack of tan due to your goggles (boys, you can't relate)
5. Having a few heart-wrenching moments when you realized your expensive lacrosse balls are irretrievable and forever gone
6. Calling your new lacrosse stick your baby
7. Slyly peeking at the other lacrosse team to see if they suck more than you do
8. Double teaming and intimidating a player
9. Team bonding makes you think you have a second family in the team
10. Braids. LOTS and LOTS of braiding, whether it is your teammates' hair or someone's lacrosse stick.
No matter if you are a current or past lacrosse player, these experiences will always make you love the sport even more.
