I remember always talking to my friends who went to smaller high schools about how their school was compared to mine. So I compiled a list of 10 things that you almost always find true if your from a big school district.
1. From your first day of your freshmen year to your graduation day, you are constantly meeting new faces in just your graduating class alone- not to mention every other class, because your class is composed of multiple middle schools.
2. Even after you graduate you're going to run into faces that you have never seen or met before, but for some reason they know you.
3. There aren't enough students to where everyone can have their own locker.
4. There are so many students that they have to have about 5 different lunch periods.
5. After you graduate, teachers who you thought knew you can't remember you at all.
6. Since there are so many students everything is so competitive to get into like sports, elections, and even clubs.
7. You get the opportunity to take classes that other schools might not offer like Marketing, Latin, German, TV production, and Theater.
8. School dances have to be split up into two, and even then they were really crowded.
9. The sports teams at your school have to travel really far away sometimes to play schools that are in your division.
10. The school is so big and there are so many students that it takes way more than the allowed time to get to that class that's up two flights of stairs, all the way at the other end of the school.
I absolutely loved my high school and even though it was so easy to get lost in the shuffle sometimes, I was so fortunate to be able to experience so many things that others couldn't.
