Whether you are Chowan University alumni, staff, or current student there are probably some pretty hilarious moments you have captured on campus. I can almost guarantee there is more than one situation on this list you will be able to identify with if you have spent even a fraction of your time there. Honestly, Chowan provides some of the most entertaining and heartfelt moments. If your Hawks pride isn't already through the roof, after reading this you will be glad to call yourself a Hawk...even if we are kind of weird.
1. If you have ever attended a Chowan sporting event, you might have noticed our dear friend Randy Harrell, the vice president and head of student affairs, chanting, “C.U., C.U.” to represent that good old Chowan pride. Go Hawks!
2. Let’s face it, you don’t have to wait until Friday to get super hyped because Fried Chicken Tuesday is everything! You also request the biggest piece of chicken and load up on the sides; your life is basically complete.
3. Whenever you hear the words “Bingo Night,” you automatically clear your schedule so you don’t miss out. The chance to win money is no joke since #brokecollegekid is basically your life.
4. You honestly don’t understand why those killer bees hover around campus all year round!
5. The annual Easter egg hunt held in Squirrel Park will literally turn friends to foes in a matter of 2.5 seconds. You know there is money hidden in one of those eggs, and you aren’t afraid to unleash that competitive spirit to find it.
6. You go to Maxway for fun. I’m just going to leave that at that.
7. If the café happens to make chocolate chip cookies that day, they disappear in a matter of two minutes. You’re also super salty for the rest of the day if you don’t get one.
8. You live for S.O.A.R. because the good food comes out. Hamburgers, macaroni salad, baked beans and that lemonade though!
9. The Snow Ball gives you the chance to stunt on everyone for a few hours.
10. Once you’ve graduated, you think you’ll leave and never come back, but you score a job on campus and stay there for the rest of your life. Kidding, but seriously though.
