Diverse in its cities and towns, Westchester County has a lot to offer. While each small locale in Westchester is different, Westchesterites always seem to share some sort of common ground. Here are 10 signs that you grew up in Westchester County, New York:
1. Your home is referred to by others as being in “upstate New York”
Contrary to popular belief, if you look at New York State as a whole, Westchester County is actually located in downstate.
2. Your childhood summers consisted of going to Playland.
You went to Playland at least 2 times a summer either to ride the famous wooden Dragon Coaster or spend all your parent’s money on trying to win that giant stuffed animal that was calling your name.
3. Metro North is your go to vehicle of transportation to NYC.
You've spent millions of hours of your life thus far on Metro North trains. Not necessarily because of delays, but because its your main mode of transportation to NYC.
"the next station is...."
4. You grew up shopping at The Westchester.
Even if you’re not the shopping type, your mom has mostly likely dragged you to this giant mall various times to get that bar/ bat mitzvah gift for someone in 7th grade.

Whether you skated competitively or recreationally, chances are you attended a birthday party and or a Friday night public session at this rink.

You practically grew up watching weather reporter Joe Rao to see if he would answer your wishes and give you a snow day.

10. You know the ins and outs of Grand Central Terminal.
After countless jobs and internships as well as trips with friends and family to the city, you know almost all the routes in and out of GCT by heart.
