1. Belden Village Mall was the "cool" place to hang out in middle school, even though all you did was walk around and look at things you couldn't buy.

2. The day the Hoover Company shut down was a very sad day. It is hard to see a once vibrant factory with holes in the windows.

3. Half the city lives at El Rincon.

If you haven't eaten there before, are you even from North Canton?

4. When you see Mr. Gallina in the hallway giving air high fives, your inner child emerges.

You couldn't be more excited.

5. If you wanted to be popular in middle school, you were on the volleyball team.

6. During football games, seniors ruled the student section.

If you were a freshman trying to get up front, well, it was nice knowing you.

7. The Roller Skating Rink on Whipple Avenue was the Friday night hang out location for all wannabe skaters and punks in middle school.

If you went here, you probably thought you were the toughest kid around.

8. Turkey Gravy Day is the best day of the year.

As soon as the lunch bell rings, you push and elbow shove anyone who tries to get in your way.

9. The Jaycee Fair is the place for middle and high school girls to dress extremely inappropriately in public.

If you went here in middle school, you probably tried to act like you were 20 for the night.

10. You make fun of the "Viking Strong" slogan.

However, no matter how much we make fun of it, it has real meaning. Our town has gone through some hardships, and we will always persevere and stay strong.

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
