Reality is beginning to set in as fall semester creeps up on us. But, instead of being sad, let's think back on some of our favorite memories. Here are 10 things that, if you did them too, your summer was AWESOME!

1. You Went Beautiful Places

If you simply went outside, enjoyed the sun, and explored something that was once unknown to you, you had a great summer. Hikes are always the best way to experience the beauty in nature. Plus, bonding with your friends is inevitable when you're struggling to climb an incredibly steep mountain. What beautiful place did you go to this summer?

2. You Went On A Road Trip

One of my personal favorites. I don’t know about you, but I can’t help but be incredibly happy while seeing the country via driving and jamming out to music. Whether you’re traveling with friends, family, your significant other, or just your dog, the memories you make on a road trip stick with you forever. Where did you drive this summer?

3. You Made New Friends

If you took time to hang out with new people and make lasting friendships, you had an awesome summer. The summer was a great time to meet new people and reach out to people you usually don't get to see. Who did you hang out with this summer?

4. You Made Exciting Life Decisions

Decided on a college? Got that new job? Moved houses? Finally downloaded Pokémon Go? Whatever you did that changed your life even a little bit, helped make your summer what it was. What decision did you make?

5. You Went On Spontaneous Adventures

In my own experience, spontaneity usually leads to a great story. Sometimes you just need to say yes, and when you do, you have a great summer. What spontaneous thing did you do this summer?

6. You Explored The Great Outdoors With Your Friends

The world is so big and so beautiful and it's more fun to experience it with your closest friends. Again, bonding with friends in nature will strengthen your relationship when you're mutually out of breath, trying not to fall down a waterfall, or relying on each other to reach the destination. Where did you explore this summer?

7. You Accomplished Something Spectacular

That 5k you ran or that mountain you climbed, the book you wrote or that big DIY project you finally got done... Whatever it was that you accomplished, congrats on being awesome and making your summer that much better. What did you accomplish this summer?

8. You Tried Something New and Way Out Of Your Comfort Zone

One of the best ingredients to an epic summer, getting out of your comfort zone. Whether you went cliff jumping, tried a sport for the first time, or volunteered at a rescue mission, this summer gave you a chance to try something new and step out of your regular routine. What did you do this summer?

9. You Learned Something New About Yourself

What did you learn about yourself when you said yes, took risks, and did something out of your comfort zone? Probably something significant enough that you are leaving this summer a slightly better version of yourself than when you entered it. What did you learn this summer?

10. You Made Memories That Will Stay With You Forever

We will look back at the summer of '16 as a summer of epic adventurers and memories. Looking back will be our motivation to help us to look forward to making more amazing memories this fall. What will you remember from this summer?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
