A girl’s shoe is critical in her life. It can make or break an outfit. The shoe is a powerful item in a girl’s wardrobe. I’m sure you own more than ten pairs of shoes, but if you’re having a difficult time which shoe to buy next, I’ll help you.

1. Casual Sneaker

A casual sneaker will be your best friend in college. You’ll wear them everyday to class and can go with any outfit. Whether it’s a pair of converse or Nike, these sneakers will hold up during your busy schedule. The casual sneaker is not to be confused with the sneakers you wear to the gym.

2. Rain Boots

Since the weather in Tallahassee is off and on, rain boots will prevent your feet from getting drenched. They can be a hassle to wear sometimes since they’re big and heavy, but they do the job. Hunter rain boots are the typical rain boot that you see every girl wear on campus. I suggest you invest in a pair because they will last forever.

3. Lace-Up Gladiator

This is my favorite type of shoe. Perfect for game day. Although people make fun of you for looking like a gladiator ready to fight, they are trendy. And the comfort is there too. Your feet will survive a football game if you wear this sandal.

4. Going Out Shoes

I specifically set aside some shoes for going out solely because they get trashed. These shoes will get dirty and stepped on. You want to look for a good deal with these types of shoes. Lulus has the cutest shoes for going out and are reasonably priced.

5. Formal Heel

These heals are only to be worn to nice events. If you have a formal to attend, these will be perfect to wear. I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing this type of shoe to a bar or club. Buy a basic color like black o9r nude and they will coordinate with any dress.

6. Booties

Once it starts getting into mid-October booties slowly creep out of the closet. If there’s a cold game day, booties will compliment your outfit. I like booties with a bit of heel too so they can also be worn out when the weather is chilly.

7. Riding Boots

Again, when the weather starts to change in fall, riding boots are essential. They clean up any outfit that doesn’t look put together. They also slip on easily right over leggings. You ca wear them to class or even going out. Add an over the knee sock with them and transforms your boots.

8. Chunky Heel

I’m a sucker for heels and a chunky heel is the ultimate shoe for a girl who isn’t the biggest fan of wearing heels. They’re easy to walk in and are comfortable. So if you aren’t into wearing 5 inch heels, opt for a chunky heels which are just as cute.

9. Shower Shoes

How glamorous! If you live in a dorm, this is a necessity. I wore shower shoes during every shower I took during freshman year. Who knows who showered in there before, so you need that barrier for your feet.

10. Causal Sandal

Sometimes these sandals are not as cute as a gladiator but you can always rely on them to run errand in or go to class. I do have to confess I own Birkenstocks and I’m obsessed. I highly recommend them because of their comfort and durability.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
