If you were a teenager in the mid to late 2000s, chances are you watched "Degrassi" on a religious basis because, let's be honest, "Degrassi" school drama vs. your school drama was nothing in comparison. If you watched "Degrassi" to that level, then these moments stuck with you the most.
10. Emma and Spinner got married.
I'm sorry, what? Of all the random, messy relationships to happen on this show, these two end up together? I personally was shocked and slightly annoyed at this, but they are a cute couple so it's OK -- kind of.
9. When Spinner and Holly J. were held up at gun point
We feared for them and bit our nails in anxiety over what could happen next in this episode.
8. Manny's abortion.
Not only were we shocked that Manny was pregnant, but we were shocked again by her decision to end her pregnancy. In the end she had to do what was right for her. My theory is, "Your body. Your choice."
7. When Degrassi cranked up their safety.
After students were almost stabbed at a dance, Degrassi decided to crank up on security. School uniforms (with color Identification to indicate what grade a student was in), ID tags, metal detectors, and so forth.
6. Adam's death.
To this day, Adam, the first open transgender student at Degrassi, is one of my favorite characters, and I will never forgive the writers for killing him off in a car accident.
5. When Jimmy was shot.
You're not a true "Degrassi" fan if you didn't cry when this scene happened.
4. Darcy's rape.
Darcy's rape was one of the most shocking things to happen on the show. She was roofied at a party and had no memory of who raped her. She falls into a depression and becomes very suicidal after the ordeal. If she didn't have a friend like Manny, who knows what could have happened to her.
3. Craig's mental breakdown.
This was one of the scarier episodes, because this was one of the first television shows to show what its like to be someone who suffers from bipolar disorder. Though we felt bad for Craig and what he was going through, we will never forget his historic breakdown.
2. When Rick was a school shooter.
Who could forget when Rick did this to Degrassi? After being the victim to numerous bullying, the final straw being glued and feathered in front of the whole school, this episode taught us all that everyone has a limit, and the results of that limit being reached could be fatal.
1. J.T.'s death.
J.T. had a positive effect on everyone's life. He was the class clown and an all around nice guy. So when he was stabbed to death when he was on his way to reunite with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Liberty, and live happily every after, safe to say we were all hit right in the feels and have never forgotten, or forgiven the writers, for this scene.
