I think most people, especially college students, know that Netflix is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread. Honestly, I'm not exactly what I used to do during my free time before I decided to splurge and pay the $7.99 a month.

I love being able to watch shows in order, without commercials, whenever I please. It is extremely convenient. Summer time is when things things slow down a little bit so you may have a little extra time to relax and watch some TV. I wanted to share some of my personal favorite shows that I have watched on Netflix so far.

So without further ado, in no particular order:

1. "Hart of Dixie"

This became one of my all time favorite shows very quickly. I think it is a perfect show to watch this summer, it's very cute and light but it is a great show.

2. "Gilmore Girls"

Even when I was younger I would watch Gilmore Girls reruns all the time, especially in the summer. I absolutely adore this show, it is another one that is just cute and light (what I would describe as fluff tv). It is just easy to watch while I am doing other things because I have seen most of the episodes but it is nice to actually watch them in order.

3. "Friends"

This one is similar to Gilmore Girls to me but I love this show and I don't think it will ever get old. Everyone I know loves Friends, no matter how many times I see the episodes I always laugh. Friends is, in my opinion, one of the most timeless shows ever.

4. "The Ranch"

This show is hysterical and kind of underrated. I haven't heard many people talk about watching it, but I think it was worth the watch. There is only season on right now and I heard a second is supposed to be coming out in the fall.

5. "Parenthood"

This is another show I haven't heard about tons of people watching but I really enjoyed it. This show is a little more on the serious side but I feel there is something about it everyone can relate to. It depicts many different family dynamics so in my opinion there is a little piece of it for everyone.

6. "The Carrie Diaries"

I adore The Carrie Diaries, It is another one of my favorites. It is another that is just charming. I think it is a really cute show that a lot of people would enjoy.

7. "New Girl"

I know lots of people that watch and love New Girl. I absolutely love Zooey Deschanel and the whole cast of this show is hilarious.

8. "Glee"

The first couple seasons of this show are absolutely great. I think everyone would enjoy this show. I grew up dancing and love to watch anything that involves singing and dancing, and I just really enjoy the story. I think Glee is one of the cutest shows there is.

9. "Gossip Girl"

Pretty much everyone I know has seen at least bits and pieces of this show. It is just really girly and fun to watch. It can get a little silly and outrageous, but it really is easy to get into, plus who doesn't love Blake Lively?

10. "Fuller House"

Okay, if you haven't seen this show yet you really should. Fuller House is incredibly cheesy and quirky but it is totally my guilty pleasure. If you enjoyed Full House I really think you will get a kick out of it.

As you can tell, I am more into silly, light hearted TV Shows. To me that is what makes these 10 shows the perfect picks for your summer break Netflix beinge watching sessions.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
