1. Buy Yourself Some Flowers

You don’t need to wait for someone to give you some flowers. It seems that people’s mindsets are configured to assume the only way to have beautiful flowers is receive them from somebody else. Forget that. If you want some roses, buy them.

2. Write Yourself A Letter

Be honest with yourself and say how you feel. Don’t be afraid of what you put down at the end of the day you’re the only one who is going to read it. Pour your heart out or simply write your self a nice message, this is your left for you. Keep it and treasure it or burn it, up to you.

3. Be Your Own Hype Man

Look at yourself in the mirror. Admire yourself. Acknowledged all your features. From head to toe. Own your beauty and tell yourself that you are one bad specimen of a human.

4. Read. Read. Read.

When was the last time you sat down and did some fine reading? Like actually sat down one afternoon and read that novel that has been building dust on your shelf. Go grab that book and take some time out of your day to travel to a different word in your mind.

5. Go on a Mini Adventure

Who says you should go in a big group when you hike? Be one with nature and indulge in the natural gifts earth has to offer. Or go into the city and wine and dine yourself to that restaurant who’ve been meaning to try out.

6. Treat Your Self

Those are the three words everyone truly wants to hear. Splurge a little. Put yourself first and don’t think about the consequence. Eat the extra piece of cheesecake, buy that too pricey shoes, hit snooze and sleep in.

7. Get a Mani/Pedi

Sit back and relax. Let someone treat your hands and feet to a massage. You take your hands and feet for granted so every now and then reward them for all of their hard work.

8. Clean Out, Throw Out

Studies show that when declutter it relieves stress. I 100% agree with this and I hate cleaning. However, whenever it feels as if life is catching up with you stop and clean. Rearrange your closet, hardcore clean your bathroom. Try it and see just how good you’ll feel afterward.

9. Dress Up and Go Out

Put on that outfit you bought but haven’t found the ‘right’ time to wear it. Doll yourself up and go to an art gallery or to the theater. Don’t wait for something to pop up, go out and find it.

10. Try Something New

You know that self-defense class you’ve been meaning to sign up for or the recipe you saw on TV. Out of all the “I’ll try that some time” things pick one and do it. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed just do it. Don’t let fear or humiliation holding back from attempting something new.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
