This is for you.
This is for those who wish their lives were different. This is for those that get up with hopes of a better day, a better future. This is for the late night cry sessions and the early, feel good mornings.
To all of you feeling lost; this is for you.
I've read my fair share of inspiring articles. You know, the ones reminding you it's your life. Reminding you that `you're in control of not what happens, but how you react to a certain situation, how you carry on.
These articles often bring up the idea you can do anything you want; it's your life after all. But what they fail to realize is sometimes is we don't have the ability, the capacity in our hearts and minds to carry out such ideals. Not everyone can afford making the small push needed in opening their horizons.
However, that is some and some is far from all. Most of us have the chance to chase our dreams, we're not guaranteed to succeed, but chase them nonetheless. Yet, many who can, feel as if they can't..
It is these people, this group, that leaves me confused beyond belief.
If you had the chance to fly, wouldn't you take it?
If you had the chance to live your dream life, wouldn't you want it?
Of course, not all dreams, ideals, fantasies, and lives would come true in the way we would hope, many wouldn't work at all, but, as many would say, isn't there something special in saying I tried? Or have we gotten to the point where the journey is no longer comparable to success?
Sometimes the words I tried are the most meaningful and important. A lot of us seem to have forgotten that. Most of us with the ability to make those life long hopes a reality, have forgotten that. So, even thought those articles fail to mention dreams are often times paired with sacrifice, sacrifices in which not all can make, they still hold truth.
Then, I figured out why we often pass by these opportunities. The only ones capable of holding us back are ourselves. The sacrifices we exchange for our dreams come in varying degrees of importance, keeping some from chasing their dreams, which is perfectly okay, but for the rest of us it's often fear. In fact, every choice we make is based of off fear or love.
Now imagine you only have ten seconds until the world as you know it seizes to exist.
In this ten seconds, you can do anything you could possibly dream of. Want to travel the world, setting foot in every country, meet new people, learn new skills? Done. Want to tell someone you love them? Go ahead. In these ten seconds, you have all the time in the world. You're merely limited to your imagination.
You are here and your ten seconds are now. No one can tell you when they will end or what you should do with them. It's up to you. Will you sit and think of what could have been or will you bring purpose to your time here? Ten seconds means nothing without people who make it something.
So which will you base your decisions of off, fear or love?
