With Halloween this month everyone is on the lookout for their favorite horror films that they watch every year. The TV screens are flooded with all the classic masked murderers, haunted houses and disturbing zombies. Of course, you can't forget about the witches, vampires, and ghosts that make up the 30 nights of Halloween countdowns.

What you really need though is some spine-chilling, bloodcurdling, hair-raising scary ass movies to really make the scariest month of the year terrifying.

Here are 10 not so basic scary movies, with trailers , to really frighten up your day:

1. Hush

What happens when you can't hear and you're all alone? Rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, this thriller will leave you asking for more. Hush Trailer

2. Prisoners

When a father would do anything for his daughter, all bets are off. This movie not only has a killer cast starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhall, but a killer twist as well. Prisoners Trailer

3. Drag Me to Hell

Now I know that karma can really be a bitch after this one. This comedy horror will leave you very naked and afraid from its eye-covering flinches to its seat-jumping scares. Drag Trailer

4. The Others

If you are looking for a classic haunted house scary movie then this is for you. Starring Nicole Kidman, this haunting throwback film will fulfill your ghostly needs this Halloween. Others Trailer

5. The Ruins

This horror flick takes an interesting turn when friends embark on an archaeological dig and they find a lot more than just the ruins. Ruins Trailer

6. Grave Encounters 1 & 2

If you are in the mood for some shaky camera documentary action these horror movies are for you. I bet you can guess what happens when a production crew locks themselves in a haunted hospital. Grave Trailer

7. Joy Ride Series

Starring Paul Walker, this mysterious thriller will make you think twice before pranking someone. If you are up for it, you can binge watch all three road trip adventures. Ride Trailer

8. 28 Days Later

Looking for some zombie action, here is a classic for you. Imagine waking up 28 days after a viral outbreak and doing everything is survive. No worries there is also a 28 Weeks Later if this just isn't enough. 28 Trailer

9. Holidays

I've never personally seen this one, but it comes very highly recommended. It's a compilation of six short films all made by different directors about a different holiday. Your favorite days of the year just might never be the same again. Holiday Trailer

10. Babadook

Who isn't afraid of what's inside the closet?Haven't had the chance to check this one out yet, but it's was rated 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and I've only heard great things. Babadook Trailer
