Happy Spring Break!! It's finally the time to sleep in and not worry about your priorities as a college student. Not that we have it that bad, but trust me, we all needed this break.

As I sat through my classes throughout the week leading up to Spring Break, I couldn't help but question how I've made it this far without having a mental breakdown. That being said, these Spring Break-induced breakdowns are all too familiar, especially if you're someone like me. No matter how hard I try, I cannot enjoy Math. Even when I think I know what's going on, there's a good chance there's something still missing.

While deciding what would be a good topic to touch upon in this week's article, I sat in my statistics class simultaneously questioning why I ever thought taking a math class in college was a smart decision.

In honor of our much-needed break and mutual hatred towards the world of Mathematics, here are 10 scenarios every Non-Math major has experienced while sitting in class:

1. When your teacher reveals the answer, and it's not even close to what you came up with.

2. When you do a problem, and you think it was finally right on the first try.

3. When your professor asks, "So does that make sense?"

4. Repeatedly telling yourself not to ask, 'Why?" and just do as you're told.

5. When everyone goes over the answer they got for a problem, and your answer wasn't even close to what they're talking about.

6. Plugging 2+2 into your calculator during an exam just in case the Math world decided to switch things up on you.

7. Meeting someone who has Math anxiety just like you.

8. Finding a rare human who not only enjoys math, but is good at it, too.

9. Repeatedly reminding yourself why you chose a major other than Math.

10. When you finally get the right answer, or you understand what is going on in class.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
