10 Signs That You’re The Elaine Benes Of Your Friend Group

You know who you are, Elaine Beneses of the world. Here are the reasons why you're a member of the friend group from our favorite 90s show, "Seinfeld."

1. You’re An Awkward Dancer

One of the things Elaine is most well known for is her famous dancing skills. If your friends tend to make fun or comment on how you “tear it up on the dance floor,” you probably have a little Benes in you.

2. You’re “One of The Boys”

Although you highly enjoy spending time with your girlfriends, you tend to hang around with the boys in your friend group and never shy away from the opportunity to crack open a cold beer with them.

3. You Can Be Slightly…Neurotic

The majority of your friends know not to mess with you as you tend to have a short fuse and can blow up any second. You tend become easily angry with people and lack that rare virtue called patience.

4. You Play The Field

If you watched Seinfeld, you know that Elaine tended to be a bit of a serial dater. Much like her, you’ve gone through your fair share of boyfriends and flings and you don’t exactly have a type or discriminate as long as he’s willing to buy you dinner.

5. You Are Intelligent And Assertive

You are smart and never are afraid to assert your womanly knowledge and power on anyone who decides to cross you the wrong way. If anyone does mess with you, they tend to regret it just, like our little friend the Soup Nazi.

Just remember, all you Elaine’s out there, “No soup for you!!!”

6. You're A Little Negative

When it comes to your outlook on life, you don't exactly have an opportunistic view. Whether it comes to people or life situations, you tend to not really put too much thought or effort into them as things usually end in disaster.

7. You’re Good At Reading People

Much like Elaine, you’re very good at sizing people up. Within just a few minutes of getting to know someone, you can basically understand whether or not you two will get along and if there is a possibility of friendship…or not.

8. You're Somewhat of An.. Introvert

You definitely wouldn't call yourself a people person, and your own company is basically the best company out there. It's not that you shy away from people; it's more that you just don't like them.

9. You Tell It Like It Is

You're generally not afraid to give someone the uncut, unedited advice that is floating through your head. Sometimes, you may even lack a very necessary filter.

10. You Can Be A Bit Overdramatic

No matter what the circumstance, you are good at exaggerating an insignificant event into a complete and utter disaster. Whether the pair of shoes that you wanted are sold out or you're developing a tiny cough, it basically means the end of the world.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
