10 Reasons Living With Your Best Friend Is Perfect

Living in a dorm, apartment, or house can be fun. The key word in that is can if you get stuck with roommate who you don't like or aren't compatible with you will have some issues in having fun. The best person to live with is your best friend. When you live with them it is ridiculous how easy life gets. You can be in your bed crying and they will always come over and comfort you. There is nothing you can get by your best friend, especially when they are in the room right next to you. There are ten reasons that living with your best friend is way better than living with a random roommate.

1. They are always there.

Like I said, you cannot hide anything from a roommate especially when they know you so well. Having someone who is basically a copy of you there to help you through life is always good for your mental health.

2. You always have an adventure partner.

They are always up for a random adventure, whether it be to get food or to go out of town. They make road trips fun because they will sing on the top of their lungs in the car with you and won't judge when you are completely off key.

3. They know you maybe a little too well.

You can't get away with anything. They know when you are up to something and 9/10 times they can guess what it is right on the dot. The good thing about this one is that they know what you like, so if they are at Taco Bell and know you are home, they will bring you that cheese quesadilla or nacho bell grande just to make you happy.

4. You know they will appreciate things that others would be confused by.

They know and understand your obsession with weird and random topics/fandoms and will understand because they are more than likely apart of them. You can send them literary puns and keep them going for 20+ minutes. If you get things that make you laugh your a** off, you have to show them first because you know that they will think it is just as hilarious.

5. You never fight about household chores.

There is no out loud arguments about who needs to do the dishes or take out the trash. There definitely are many passive aggressive actions that happen to each other when they do not want to do said chore for the tenth time this week. This may be letting the dishes pile up, or writing notes to them about having to do their chore.

6. You know whatever is going on in their life the second it happens.

Other than the obvious fact that you live together, but right after something exciting/good/bad happens they run to your room and have to tell you. If they weren't in the room next to yours, they would have to call you and it wouldn't be the same as discussing it face-to-face.

7. You also know when there is "company" over.

You will be able to hear everything, whether you like it or not, through the walls. This may be them singing in the shower, talking with their family/other friends, or other forms of company. You can't get anything passed your roommates unless they are gone, but they will still know even if you don't say anything to them because they just know. They also don't judge you because they love you.

8. When you want to go out, they are right there next to you.

Whether it be a party, coffee, or just exploring, they will always be ready. They won't let you go out on the weekend without a buddy. They know that you want to have fun but at the same time are super awkward in social situations and tries to make it better by just being there.

9. You are a completely different person when they are with you.

This may sound super cliche, but you are. They make you the best version of yourself and force you out of your comfort zone. They know what you are willing and not willing to do with a little coercing, because they are basically you. Pushing limits is always a good thing to do, but they know when you need to stop even when you don't. They want to keep you safe. You are at your happiest when you are around them because they make you want to be better.

10. Living with your BFF is like eating ice cream for breakfast: unhealthy but beautiful.

Unhealthy because all you do is binge watch Netflix and each junk food on the weekends, but beautiful because you are just in love with your BFF and you never want them to leave. They are always by your side and there is no one out there who knows you like them and loves you unconditionally. Plus they are always down to eat ice cream for breakfast.

The best decision in the world is to live with your best friend. They are always, always, always there when you need them and they never judge. I am thankful to be living with my best friend and I don't know what I would do without her.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
