Every Sunday night at 8 p.m. I settle in with my friends, snacks in hand and start mentally preparing for the emotional roller coaster I'm about to experience. That roller coaster is one of HBO's hottest shows, "Game of Thrones." It's also my favorite TV show, and one of many obsessions. I have a "Game of Thrones" tattoo and ringtone, I own the books and I even have a replica of needle, Arya Stark's first sword, hanging on my bedroom wall (thanks, Mom.) Though I know many of my fellow "GoT" fans will relate, here are 10 reasons why you should be obsessed with the merciless show that will break your heart and put it back together again.
1. You're always on the edge of your seat.
Never have I personally watched a show that will be ruthless, keep me in total suspense and one I truly have to mentally prepare for.
2. You will cry real tears.
You liked that character? Too bad, they just died of poisoning. Thought they were too important? Nah, George R.R. Martin, the author of the books, doesn't care about your emotions. Animals are not excused from this.
3. Dragons.
I mean, it's a baby dragon! Look how cute!
4. Dragons... again.
I honest to God want one so badly.5. Attractive men.
He can wife me up any day of the week, any month, any season. I'm ready.
6. Attractive women.
Tbh, she can wife me up, too.
7. The fantasy is like no other.
I have to tell myself, "It's not real, it's not real," even though I really wish it was. Yet, I still probably wouldn't last through one episode.
8. There's comedy among all of the drama.
Sometimes it can't all just be seriousness. We all need a laughing break from the heartache and anger.
9. Sometimes it really depicts my life as a college student.
Let's be honest, this is the real response you want to give when someone asks you about what you do at college.
10. There are life lessons through all of the inappropriate and crazy moments.
There are quotes like the one above and many others that help remind its audience that it's OK to be yourself, stand up for yourself, fight for what you believe in and that bravery and strength are hella important. And wine. Can't forget about the wine.
