Top Reasons Why Your RA Is Great

When I transferred to a four year University, I never thought that I would end up working for it. By my second semester at Campbell I was hired for start working for Residence Life. Working with Res Life has brought a lot of joy to my last two years of college. I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to work with such a great team of people. Just like with any job there have been good and bad things to come my way but nothing beat the satisfaction I receive from helping my residents. I love my residents and try to do anything that I can to help them. Even when I wasn't an RA myself, I still enjoyed having them around and being able to come to them with any questions I had. RA's are not always well liked, sadly. A lot of students don't appreciate all the things that RA's do. So, here are a few reasons why I think Resident Assistants are great and why you should too.

1. They give you food

2. They give you advice

3. They are always rooting for you

4. They know the daily college struggle

5. They make mistakes too

6. They are always available

7. They always plan events for you

8. They worry about what you think

9. They will always want to be your friend

10. They worry about you

11. They are just like you

The life of a RA is a little hectic, but it is one of the most rewarding jobs a college student can have. If you think some of these reasons apply to your RA, don't forget to thank them for all their hard work!

P.S- RA applications are out for next semester at most schools! Check it out, talk to your RA, ask questions, you might have just found a new job!

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
