1. Professionals do your hair and make up for you before work.
Relax as very talented make up artists transform your face into that of the undead with the use of prosthetics and air brush guns. There's nothing like having a personal stylist; whether they're pampering you in glam make up, or FX make up! The time spent in that chair is dedicated to you and making you look your best.
2. You have permission to take your anger out on guests.
What better way to unleash your built up stress and anger than by screaming? Even better, screaming at someone! Stomp, growl, grunt, yell, do what you please to release that frustration. There's no other job where "angry resting face" is welcomed.3. The opportunities for photoshoots are endless.

With a different look every night, undoubtedly you will want to document each make up job! There's really nothing like a zombie selfie to surprise your friends with via Snap Chat. Strike a pose, show off your flexibility, and share your character with the social media world!
4. Get paid to have fun!
Adding "Professional Zombie" to your resume will certainly stand make you stand out! No job will feel like work if you're enjoying yourself. The fast past, high energy environment of a haunted attraction is sure to keep you on your toes. And let's be real here...who doesn't want to celebrate Halloween all month long?5. You become part of a very dysfunctional family.
Whether you're an aspiring actor, a horror fanatic, or anything in between, everyone has one goal in mind...to scare the crap out of guests! That is something you and your fellow scare actors will quickly bond over, making you friends for life.
6. All actors develop a fan base!
Every haunted attraction has its own group of "frequent fliers," who return weekend after weekend, all season long. Some may become rather irritating or stalker-like, as they somehow manage to find you on social media and visit you at work like a friend would. Others just share the same love for Halloween and consider themselves your fans! Either way, it's flattering.
7. "Zombie -ing" is surprisingly great exercise.
Being on your feet for hours and hours on end can get extremely exhausting and result in quite a few blisters. Let's not think of the negatives here though, consider just how many calories you'll be burning by walking for 5+ straight hour! If you're a ground dwelling or crawling zombie, you'll be breaking a sweat on even the coldest of nights.
8. What other job encourages employees to make people miserable?
The phrase, "the costumer is always right" definitely doesn't apply here. In fact, the exact opposite is everyone's goal. Make them cry, pee, or fall...if they do more than one, it's even better! Of course children are an exception, but adults who dare to enter at their own risk are free game.9. Guests' reactions are priceless!
Some people are so hilarious to watch when they get scared, that you will have to turn your head to avoid laughing in their faces! It is imperative you stay in character at all times, no matter what happens. Close scarers beware, because flailing limbs are common and you definitely do not want to get hit. The best are the guests who actually think the zombies are real and won't come near you!10. Get over your fears by seeing it from the other side.
Working in a haunted attraction will allow you to see the in's and out's of how scares are created. You get to see what everything looks like with the lights on and more importantly, you get to see who's under those masks. Next time you attend haunted house as a guest, remember that they're actors just like you and have fun!
