Although I was never someone who liked to jump on bandwagons when other people are obsessed with things. When Twilight came out, I read the books, but didn’t break my neck to make sure that I saw all the films. When Hunger games was brought to the theaters, I refused to even look at the books. For once, I decided that maybe I would bite the bullet this one time and watch Grey’s Anatomy. After I started the show, I became hooked. Here’s 10 reasons as to why I believe that you should jump on the band wagon and start watching Grey’s.

1. It teaches you about medicine.

The show explains diseases, medical terms and how to perform surgical procedures as we learn along with the interns just what it means to be a doctor.

2. It has a ton of episodes which is great because you won’t finish it too soon and be upset that it’s over.

Grey’s has 13 seasons with an average of 25 episodes per season, planning to watch something, the sooner you get started, the sooner you can enjoy it.

3. The characters are relatable.

Each character has a very unique personality, this gives everyone someone that they can relate to; whether it’s Meredith Grey, George O’Malley or Cristina Yang, everyone can find someone that they relate to on a personal level.

4) It shows you that doctors are people too!

Most people would believe that just because a doctor’s job is to heal people and save lives, they that is their only purpose in life. Grey’s allows us to see beyond the gloves and scrubs and see that doctors are people just like the rest of us.

5) It’s a show of many genres.

For a show about doctors, it’s not all blood and surgical masks, the show offers romance, comedy, adventure, action, drama, horror (blood) and even relates to families.

6) It shows you what happens “behind the scenes,” at hospitals

Hospitals aren’t just about people who are injured or sick getting better, it’s also about how people (doctors) do everything they can to make sure they save lives. It shows the struggles that the doctors go through to ensure proper procedures and making sure to measure out the correct dosages to medication to make sure to not over medicate/under medicate their patients.

7) You realize you have a “person”

On episode 1 of season 2, Cristina Yang explains to Meredith Gray just what being her “person,” means and then you realize who your “person,” is.

8) The story line is well written.

The show offers episodes that will make you laugh till you cry as well as cry till you can’t stop crying. Once you get into the show, the writers hit you with a plot twist that will make you binge watch 10 episodes in a row to find out what happens next.

9) You become more empathetic about people you’ve never met.

With every new patient that come into Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital, we begin to relate to them once we hear why they’re in the hospital. We also begin to relate to their families as they patiently wait to hear about “our,” patient.

10) Its just a really good show!

Once you sit down to watch the show you will realize that it’s everything you’ve hoped for and better!

So stop what you’re doing (unless it’s homework, then keep working on it), get on Netflix and jump on the Grey’s Anatomy bandwagon!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
