10 Reasons Why You Should Attend Coachella 2017
Coachella

Coachella is a music festival held on two back-to-back weekends in April in Indio, California. Last April, I had the opportunity to attend Coachella with a couple of my best friends, and ever since, I've been dying to go back. Whether it's the mass of people in the Sahara Tent singing their hearts out or the signature watermelons that are featured in every Instagram, Coachella never fails to amaze. This year, I'm planning to attend again to relive this amazing weekend. Here's a few reasons why you should too:

1. That lineup THOUGH!

I mean cmon', how could you pass up headliners Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar? I know I couldn't. Tons of amazing artists like DJ Khaled, Big Gigantic, Future, DJ Snake, Schoolboy Q, and Martin Garrix are performing and are going to blow our minds. Last year's lineup was good, but this years is FIRE.

2. The food vendors.

Usually concert food isn't very good, but Coachella goes above and beyond from ice cream stuffed doughnuts to fries covered in cheese and bacon. If you're not going for the lineup, at least go for the food.

3. People watching.

Coachella is probably the best place to people watch. I've seen almost naked men to extravagant head pieces to animal costumes. You'll see something different everywhere you turn.

4. The ferris wheel.

The perfect Instagram background. But hey, people also ride the Ferris Wheel, and I highly suggest you do too. You get an amazing view of the whole venue!

5. The art and architecture.

Each year, Coachella is decorated with vast tents and structures that are absolutely awe-inspiring. In 2015, there was a caterpillar, astronaut, and butterfly and in 2016, there was the Tower of Twelve Stories and a huge sign reading "Besame Mucho". Perfect for pictures or to cool down after being in the sun all day.

6. Celebrities.

Coachella is an awesome way to meet and see celebrities. Lots of celebrities attend Coachella and are located in the VIP sections of the stages. Most celebrities go to Weekend One, but don't get me wrong, they go to Weekend Two as well.

7. The guest stars.

I can't tell you how insane the crowd got when in the middle of A$AP Rocky's performance; Kanye came out. Guest stars are some of the most exciting parts of the festival.

8. Being with friends and making new ones.

Although thousands of people go to Coachella every year, I ran into many of my friends from my hometown without even trying to meet up with them while I was there. Not only do you spend time with your friends, but you also make new ones by standing next to them squished in front of the Main Coachella stage or in line waiting for one of those juicy ice pops.

9. The Coachella swag.

If you didn't buy apparel, it didn't happen. Coachella every year sells tons of apparel to promote Coachella. I bought a tank top and a sticker for my laptop and it reminds me all the time of the best weekend of my life. You have to buy a souvenir!

10. It's worth the experience.

Coachella definitely isn't for everyone. It is an experience, but I highly suggest you try it out. For me, it was the best three days of my life. I cannot wait to repeat it all over again in April. Music festivals take up a lot of energy and definitely tire you out, but the insane amount of happiness that is poured into this festival is entirely worth it.

If I haven't convinced you by now, I don't know what else I can say, but Coachella Music Festival hands down was the most insane, yet awesome weekend of my life. Weekend 1, Weekend 2... they are both are unique in their own way, and I do not suggest one over the other. Overall, Coachella is an experience I will never forget. See you in a couple months, Coachella 2017!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
