There are at least 10 relatable reasons as to why you love your sister.

We all have our reasons for loving our sisters but there are some reasons that are just a bit more relatable.

1) Whether you have an older or younger sister, she still has to put up with you

If you have an older sister, she has to watch out for you when she has plans and she has to deal with you hovering over her. If you have a younger sister, she has to handle the fact that you do not always want her hovering over you.

2) Sisters are also good when it comes to makeup

If you’re like me and have an older sister, you know that she was the one who taught you the do’s and don’ts about makeup. She let you use all her different types of makeup and she taught you how to use one brush for pretty much everything.

3) Whenever you want to talk about boys or your latest crush (even advice on how to talk to girls/guys), your sister is always there to listen and give you her input

You may not like what she has to say but she is probably right. You two could be out in public and see a cute stranger and talk about them from a distance or you both could be discussing the person you have had your eye on for a while. She could even give you pointers on how to talk to them and how to woo them.

4) No one knows you better than your sister

Typically, when you need someone to confide in, you turn to your sister. Your secrets that you cannot keep any longer or the troubles that you have been dealing with seem to flow from your mouth when you are talking to her. Also, she knows you better because she has had to live with you more than anyone else. She has heard almost everything that you have said in your time on this earth and so she knows what you’re thinking most of the time. You can usually look at each other and be on the same level of understanding.

5) The older sister usually enjoys looking after their younger sibling

There is a large notion that the older sister is to lead their younger sibling onto the “right path” in life. This usually happens accidentally and the older sister is just looking out for their sibling and helping them make decisions without actually making decisions.

6) If you have an older sister, you can learn from her mistakes

You can look up to your older sister but when she gets in trouble, you learn to not do what she did. If she does something that results in your parents becoming angry and grounding her, you know to not do whatever it was that she did.

7) She will always be there when you need her

Whether you want her around or not, your sister will always be there for you when she is needed. The key word is needed not wanted. Kind of like Nanny McPhee but without the whole curse-thing. If you need advice or just someone to talk to, she has your back.

8) Even when you two fight, you bounce right back

You two could say whatever you want to each other, but deep down you both know how much you need the other. In the end, you two can resolve any issue that you both face and find yourselves together when it is finished.

9) Being sisters means figuring out the world together

No matter how many years you two are apart, you both explore the world together. You learn from each other and together the two of you figure out how the world works and what should and should not be done. Also, together you both can learn the best ways to survive in the toughest of times. You both made it through 2016, you can make it through anything!

10) Neither of you will ever be really alone

You will always be there for each other, even if you are miles apart or whether you have been separated by death. There is nothing on this world nor in the heavens above that could separate the bond made with a sister. The love shared between you both does not expire and it does not subside.

“If you don’t understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you were probably an only child.” -Linda Sunshine

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
