10 Reasons Why You Can't Wait To Go Home For The Holidays

1. To see your holibaes!

Sure, going to college far away from home allows you to meet people who come from different cities, countries, and cultures, and as a grownup the friendships you make will most likely stay with you, but we know you can't wait to see some of the friends you grew up with! You know what we're saying. The ones who have embarrassing photos of you from 7th grade.

2. In situ laundry.

Are you tired of your biweekly visits to your nearest laundromat? Holidays is the season for you.

3. Home cooked meals! (or the food of your country, for us internationals...)

99-cent noodles never hurt anybody, but there is nothing quite like a home cooked meal.

4. DAT Dog.

City life often forces us to leave our animal friends with our families. The holidays is the time for cuddles. You know. Holding your dog tightly to your chest, whispering "I love you," as they struggle to escape from your grip.

5. Quality family time.

Once you actually pass your home's front door it is likely that you'll remember all the reasons why you left in the first place, but the brief period of time when you feel homesick and you hope for quality family time is heaven.

6. You no longer have to pay for things yourself.

When you are with family, financial responsibilities are assigned by age. If you are one of the youngest members of your pack, make it rain!

7. Hibernate freely!

With studying and working time for sleep is limited. So what if you spend 15 days in bed? We all need a break!

8. Hobby time!

Has it been six months since the last time you picked up your brush and painted something? Now you have the time to pick up from what you left.

9. No alarm clocks.

Who cares what times it is? It's not like you have school in the morning. Enjoy.

10. Basically cats!

No matter where you are, where you're going, and what you are doing there, try to enjoy the Holidays! We all need them.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
