Today, February 2nd, is Marmot Day!

And, well, I don't think marmots get nearly enough recognition. So here are 10 reasons why marmots deserve this oh-so-special day.

1. They know how to let it all out.

Marmots have struggles too. One of the most well-known marmots--the groundhog--has always had its very own holiday. I mean, who doesn't love Punxsutawney Phil? But his brothers and sisters--the Alpine marmot, the yellow-bellied marmot, and the hoary marmot among others--don't get nearly as much press. Never fear marmot family. We see you. We hear you.

2. They love to make you laugh.

They're total goofballs at heart, and they can't wait to brighten up your day.

3. They are quite complex characters.

The curiosity of a cat, the friendliness of a dog, all wrapped up in a little rodent package.

4. They are masters of wooing.

They know how to work it. And you can't help but fall in love. Every time.

5. They are true romantics who know how to keep you.

When they've won your heart, they won't give up. They'll treat you right. They'll make you feel special.

6. They, like many of us, get what it means to truly love food.

Whether it be graham crackers or carrots, marmots know how to appreciate really good food.

7. They see ALL the truth.

Don't try to run. Don't try to hide. Marmots know all your secrets. And there's nothing you can do about it. But don't worry...

8. They have got dependability in spades.

Just look at that face. That's the face of a marmot who would never betray your trust. They've got your back through thick and thin. Because...

9. They are phenomenal friends.

Just a boy and his marmot. This is true love, guys.

10. They are just so darn CUTE.

And just in case you were wondering, Marmot Day is celebrated in Alaska (as well as the city of Owosso, Michigan) as an alternative to Groundhog Day. Marmot Day was established in 2002, and Alaskans like to celebrate this lovely rodent by gathering for a family dinner and sharing marmot jokes. So if you have a new appreciation for the entire marmot species like I do, watch some gifs, crack some jokes, and go tell everyone about the MIRACLE OF THE MARMOT.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
