The Smithsonian is one of the few museums in the world that someone doesn't have to pay for. Some other activities that are free is visiting the Library of Congress, touring the monuments, and going to its many film fests. It is great for someone on a budget!

Washington D.C. is famous for its food scene. Whether it was the ever-popular Georgetown Cupcakes or eating in a restaurant created by a Top Chef contestant, or visiting one of its many food trucks, there is endless options for food in D.C.

The job opportunities are endless in D.C. D.C. provides many opportunities for people in all kinds of fields. If someone wants to be a politician, journalist, chef, tour guide, or more, they can pursue it in D.C.

D.C. takes pride being the greenest city in the world. It was recently named the healthiest/most active city in America and has the most green space (parks, trees, etc.) than any other city in the world.
9. The Metro System
D.C. has one of the most efficient and easiest metro systems in the world. Most people in D.C. and the surrounding states (Maryland and Virginia) take the Metro to get wherever they need to go. The Metro is much easier than driving, as driving takes double the time to get anywhere compared to other places/cities.

From cute little shops to high end boutiques to mainstream stores, D.C. has many options for every taste.
