In a recent health article by Peta Bee, he wrote “scientists believe [sushi is] one of the reasons why the Japanese are among the [healthiest] people in the world." The average Japanese diet consists of fish, vegetables, and rice. As a result of this diet, the rate of heart diseases in Japan are considerably low.

As we all know, sushi is basically raw or cooked pieces of seafood on top of vinegar flavored cold cooked rice, served with ginger, wasabi, or with any other garnishes and sauces.

But how you want it prepared is entirely up to you.

Here are some reasons why you should eat sushi.

1. Sushi is always picture perfect

Every time sushi is plated, it always comes out picture perfect. You can take a small bite and take a picture afterwards and it will still look perfect.

2. Eating sushi is fun

You can eat sushi with utensils or without. You can use chopsticks, forks, spoons, or even your bare hands! You can try whatever you want anyway that you want in order to eat it, it is all part of the adventure!

3. There are different choices that can fit everyone’s want

There are many options that one can choose from. You can choose different fishes, different kinds of rice, vegetarian, raw, cooked, and even burrito styled.

4. Sushi is a much healthier choice

Sushi is never covered in oils or artificial flavors unlike other places. It is naturally that delicious.

5. Sushi contains proteins

Omega 3 is an example of proteins which are essentially fatty acids that humans on a normal basis do not get enough of in our normal diets.

6. It is easily transportable

You can eat it from a restaurant, at home, Walgreen’s, or even at the park.

7. Can be made at home

You can make the rice and buy all the other ingredients and there’s basically no hassle in making the rolls, nigari (sushi over rice), or sashimi. There is no right or wrong way in sushi

8. It is a great way to learn about the Japanese culture

9. It is a great conversation starter

When dining, you can start the conversation usually with “what is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten” and people will answer with octopus, sea urchin or some other water creature that you have no idea you could eat.

10. Sushi is very yummy!

You don’t know what you like or don’t like until you try it!

I never knew that I hate tuna until I tried it. Just give it your all and at one point in time if someone asks you "what is the craziest thing you've eaten," you can finally say "I ate sushi.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
