10 Reasons Why 'Supernatural' Is The Best

In honor of "Supernatural" season 12 premiering this Thursday, here are 10 reasons why "Supernatural" is the best TV show out there!

1. Family

Family is a huge central factor of "Supernatural." Between the brotherly love of Sam and Dean Winchester, to Bobby Singer and his love for his boys, and to this beautiful quote above. "This is my family. It's little and broken but still good." The Winchester boys believe that through family anything is possible.

2. Dean Freaking Winchester

One of the greatest things about "Supernatural" is Dean Winchester. He's the bad boy, the comical relief, and he'd do anything for his family. Dean Winchester represents the person we have in all of us, the courage we hold in our hearts, and the unspoken part of our mind. And let's not forget how much he loves pie and steak!

3. Sammy Winchester

Sam Winchester is the complete opposite of Dean. He's conservative, book smart and never wanted to get into the business of hunting monsters. The one thing that the Winchester boys have in common is their devotion to each other. Sam would do anything to save his brother and save the lives of innocent people. I guess being badass and having salon quality hair runs in the family.

4. The Adorable Innocence of our Favorite Angel Castiel

Castiel is the Winchester's close friend and Angel of God. The best thing about Castiel is the things that he just doesn't get about Earth, like porn for example. Castiel brings us a funny comical relief even in the most serious of situations with his lack of knowledge of human society.

5. The Villains of Supernatural

Lucifer, or Satan himself, was one of the best villains of Supernatural's continuing 12 seasons. He is a funny, deranged, narcissistic, but also enjoyable, sociopath. Lucifer tried to start the Apocalypse, haunted Sam's mind, and tortured Sam in the hell he was imprisoned in. He truly does sound like a nice guy. "Supernatural" also found villains in Amara, aka, The Darkness, aka, God's sister, Azazel, Raphael the Archangel, well there are just too much to list.

6. Bobby Singer's catchphrase "Idjit"

Apparently, idjit is Irish for "idiot" and is often used by Bobby Singer to describe Sam and Dean. It is a fun word often associated to "Supernatural" and it perfectly shows the frustration Bobby often has with the Winchester Boys.

7. Monsters

There are so many incredible monsters on the show. From werewolves (pictured above), to vampires, ghosts, demons, ghouls, shapeshifters, and even angels. They play a huge part of the "Supernatural" myths and provide riveting action in each and every episode.

8. Crowley, The "King" of Hell

Crowley is the guy you love to hate. You want him dead but secretly still want him to live because he's such an interesting character. He starts out as a villain and pain in the side for the Winchester boys but slowly turns into an ally and helps them defeat many evils. But you still want him dead because he is a giant ass.

9. "Assbutt"

Just let it soak in and see if you can figure out what it means. Just another one of Castiel's attempts at the human skill of cursing. This one is mostly just in here for my amusement.

10. Brotherly Love

I know I've already emphasized Sam and Dean individually, but there definitely has to be a section for the love they share as brothers. Now Sam and Dean have sacrificed themselves multiple times to save the other, and have literally been to Hell and back. Their love for each other is a huge driving force behind the show and it is what makes us fans coming back each week for more.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
