1. We are more than just a college, we are a community. Our campus extends into our town, where we are forced to share space, especially like parking on game day. However, this college town knows what our sports, particularly football, means to its fans, so regardless of public opinion, there is an immense amount of understanding, and hospitality shown on our amped up crowded Saturday nights.
2. We are the Rebs! We have a chant that stirs the fans, as well as ignites the winning spirit in our cheers! Hotty Toddy gosh almighty who the hell are we? Flim Flam Bim Bam Ole Miss by damn! You can "Hail State" or "Roll Tide" all you want, but nothing compares to our chant!
3. Um... the Grove! Enough said.
4. We are a city with unlimited things to do. Our city offers a vast majority of Rebel fun, like Rebel paintball. This is not a college built around its town, it is a town built around its college.
5. What would Oxford be without the Square? ... too scary of a thought! Thankfully enough we have the Square. A quaint picturesque shopping and dining experience during the day, and at night, an absolute must-visit list of specialty bars and clubs, like the Library, Rooster, and great dives like the Rib Cage, a personal favorite of mine.
6. We have the best fans around. Ole Miss fans exist in every part of Oxford, and as a student, and member of this community, I am convinced that most residents of Oxford bleed red and blue, through and through.
7. Although there might be a sparsity of on-campus parking for commuters, there is no shortage of residential housing for students, and we offer the best residential housing at that with more than six new housing complexes built last year, that include all the amenities any college student could want.
8. Have I mentioned the Vaught? We watch our SEC football in one of the most famous, large scaled, grand stadiums ever... The Vaught Hemingway Stadium!
9. We are a city rich in history and tradition, having some of the most amazing, memorable landmarks in Oxford, like the Rowan Oak, also known as the home of William Faulkner.
10. And last, but definitely not least, what makes Oxford the best college town: its alumni. Oxford is not just a town with a great college like Ole Miss, it is a city that Ole Miss alumni thrive in. Graduates of the University of Mississippi become a big part of the Oxford community each year, making this city united as friends, and family throughout.
