10 Reasons Why 'One Tree Hill' Is the Best

Nine seasons of pure joy. 187 episodes of life that everyone can relate to. Ever need something to watch when you're just browsing through Netflix? "One Tree Hill."

1. The Screenplay

It plays out just about every scenario of life and its pure genius how it all connects back to itself. There are twists and curves in every episode that keep you saying "just one more episode" and next thing you know, you're 4 hours in and everything has changed.

2. Haley James and Nathan Scott

The two characters that give you something to believe in. The two characters that are put through hell and high water but still manage to make it through. The two characters that are so in-love that nothing else matters.

3. Karen's Cafe

"Somebody told me that this is the place where everything's better and everything's safe." Karen's cafe is the place that can make you feel at home while you're watching from a TV screen. Such a loving, family place that anyone is welcome in.

4. Peyton Sawyer's Artwork

So pure and so honest. Usually the simplest of concepts and still gorgeous. The picture of Jenny while she is babysitting for Jake, breathtakingly beautiful. The comic strip of her growing up while her dad is always away on business, honest, real, full of pain. People Always Leave is one of my favorite things to look back on.

5. Brooke Davis

One of, if not, the strongest female leads to have ever acted. Brilliant, beautiful, brave and going to change the world one day. She isn't afraid to take on the world. Such an independent girl with large ambitions. Audience sees her grow more than any other character. She turns from this slutty, party girl into a classy, independent, intelligent woman. It amazing to watch happen.

6. Jimmy Edwards Shooting

You're able to feel the love radiating from this small town of Tree Hill when they rally together to mourn the loss of Jimmy and Keith. It's pain written so well that you feel as if you were a part of it that day in the hallway. You see the fear in Jimmy's eyes. You feel the pain that Peyton is feeling after being shot.

7. Tric

The only night club that you see on TV that you wish you could go to. The coolest bands, the hottest music, the fun you see the characters having. You want to jump right in and join in on the fun.

8. The River Court

Who knew that a piece of pavement, a basketball hoop, some cheap bleachers and a river could mean so much? The safe zone where they are able to go back and find their selves.

9. Gavin DeGraw

The opening song every episode, one of the best musicians of our time is played throughout the series. It's not the crap that people call music nowadays but its raw talent and lyrics.

10. There's only one Tree Hill.

"One Tree Hill" can completely transport you into a different mindset. It puts you right there with the characters while also making you think about your own life while you're going through it with the actors. Some TV shows are a complete bust but this one is definitely worth every minute of the running time. The show is so unlike any other.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
