10 Reasons Why NACURH Conference Is The Best Conference Ever

NACURH, some people might not know it, but yet it is one of the largest student-run organization in the nations. And yet, NACURH conference is also one of the biggest student-run conference in the U.S as well. NACURH stands for National Association of Colleges and Universities Residence Halls. NACURH is an international organization that led by amazing student leaders from all over the states to ensure, enhance and promote the residential life experiences and leadership to students on campus as which it held the NACURH conference once a year to bring all of those students all together to one place.

A little bit of NACURH, in NACURH there are eight regions such as Midwest, Central Atlantic, Great Lakes, Northeast, Inter-mountain, Pacific, Southwest and South Atlantic. And in addition to the NACURH conference, each regions held one regional leadership conference and one business meeting every year as well.

And this year, I had a privilege to attend this amazing conference in University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, and I am in love with it. And without further a do, here are the ten reasons why NACURH Conference is the best conference ever,

1. NACURH Conference is one of the most diverse and inclusive conferences

With more than 2000 delegates attend this conference, everyone comes from different areas in the United States, Canada, Qatar and United Arab of Emirates. And everyone can be your friends. At NACURH, everyone is accepted regardless of your race, religion and sexual orientations. There are people who always support you and be by your side at NACURH conference.

2. You'll definitely learn a lot from the program sessions that you attended

There are about seven program sessions that you will be attending, if you are choosing to be a NACURH delegate. NACURH program sessions allow you to learn from all of the student leaders to develop your leadership skills, teamwork, diversity,

3. You'll probably lose your voice at the end of the first day of conference

As a matter of fact, three days of conference, I lost my voice every single day. During the conference, everyone is showing off their school's spirit with cheers and voices and much more. Moreover, each region also show off their regional spirit even better. As NIU is in GLACURH region, which is Great Lake region. We all have tried so hard and cheered our hearts out every single time. And as I say *Peace Loves Polar Bears*

4. Too many NACURH merchandises to buy at the reasonable prices

Not to mention about the stuff you can buy, I literally spent about $75 just to buy NACURH Merchandises such as amazing t-shirts, lanyards, and especially PINS!

5. Each region cheers differently, but all regions dance to the same songs

Moreover, as each different region cheers differently and some even have their own signature cheers. For example, like the Great Lakes regions, we have some cheers like the Peace Love Polar Bears cheers, G-L-A-C-U-R-H GLACURH, Row Cheer or more. There are even conference cheers that each region could shout out to other region and that region could do the cheer and bring back to other region. One of my favorite is the P-A-R-T-Y cheer, which goes like this, P-A-R-T-Y Party Party's on our side, where is the party at? the party is over here. Moreover, not to mention dancing moment, the moment as the WOBBLE or Cotton Eyed Joe came up, we all just dropped everything and started moving our body with the same dance moves.

6. Cute, Crafty, Amazing....CLOTHESPIN everywhere all around your neck

Clothespins, clothespins, clothespins are everywhere. Clothespins are a way that each school could represent their spirits and they exchange it with other delegates from other schools. All of those clothespins are decorating according to the theme of their schools. Or I would say, clothespins are like souvenirs from my school exchange with others to represent the memories we had at NACURH.

7. NACURH conference is a great platform to step out of your comfort zone

If you are a person that is still figuring out who you are or finding the true meaning of life. NACURH conference is such a great place. It allows you to develop yourself and stepping out of a closet and able to see the outside world with your own ability. NACURH makes you grow internally and externally. Internal growth includes self-esteem, boost your confidence, leadership in self and more. External growth includes communication skill.

8. Every conference has it own unique theme

Here comes the best part. Each NACURH Conference is hosted with a theme that is different every year. this year, 2016 at University of Delware the theme was *unmask the superleader in you*, which is a superhero theme. So, some dress up as superheroes, and capes are everywhere.

9. You'll probably enjoying living on other universities' campus for about thee days

Who wouldn't love this, living in another university's campus for about three days. I LOVE IT. It is so nice to learn about other schools' campuses even their traditions and history as well.

10. And.........YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE SO MUCH FUN

And as I haven't stressed enough it is FUN FUN and FUN.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.
