10 Reasons Why I Love Raising Cane's

If you know me personally, you know that I'm actually obsessed with Cane's. When I've had a good day, I go get Cane's. When I've had an awful day....oh right I still go get Cane's. In my hometown, the nearest Cane's is about 20 minutes away. When I got to college, the commute to fried chicken goodness went from 20 to 4 minutes (insert heart eyes emoji). If people really don't know what to get me on holidays, a Cane's giftcard is usually a safe bet. Here are 10 reasons why Cane's is BAE:

1. The employees are so friendly.

Every time I whip my truck into the drive thru, I get greeted with "What's kickin', want some chicken?" And after all of these years, I always laugh. Well of course I want some chicken. I realize that they're probably all supposed to say that, but when I hear that line I immediately believe that I'm being served by the most original, humorous individual on the face of the earth.

2. Their sweet tea > everyone else's.

I like my sweet tea where it's almost to the point of being syrupy because there's so much sugar. It might give you a crazy headache afterwards, but do I regret getting three refills? Nope.

3. When they yell my name to get my food, I feel like I just won the lottery.

Who needs the Texas Powerball when you just got called up for a Box Combo with extra sauce? As I make my way to the front, I can't help but smile.

4. The chicken is always too hot, but that doesn't stop me.

The chicken is really so hot it must've just come from the burning pits of Hell, but that doesn't slow me down. Just drown it in sauce and hope for the best, right?

5. I could probably eat their toast everyday and not get sick of it.

This one's pretty much self explanatory. Seriously though, I need toast to get through every weekday.

6. Their hours make it easy to go get my Cane's fix whenever I'm craving it.

For some reason, I prefer eating Cane's at around 10-11 PM, and the great thing is THEY'RE STILL OPEN.

7. It really is FAST food.

I'm never in the drive thru longer than about three minutes. Even when they're super packed inside and they're going a little slow, I can't get angry because they've been so fast every other time.

8. The atmosphere inside is really welcoming, for a fast food restaurant.

As far as I know, all Cane's stores have really cool memorabilia hanging up on the walls. It gives it a hometown atmosphere; my Cane's actually has some of my college's pictures and logos hanging up!

9. Everyone is happier when they leave, so you can get out of your parking spot in a reasonable amount of time.

Now, this isn't a proven fact, but so many people will stop to let me go when I'm trying to pull out of my parking spot. In a place that is THAT busy, it's really a huge deal.

10. SAUCE.

Did y'all think I forgot? Nope, just saved the best for last. I don't know what's in the sauce and it's probably a simple recipe, but I could literally eat the sauce on every kind of food. I could definitely drink it straight from a cup, but that's probably frowned upon.

Hopefully, there are some people out there who are Cane's addicts! Today, go "treat yo self" to Cane's.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
