I am a huge country music fan. Oops, was I supposed to say that?
Not many people seem to want to admit it. But I love it all, the songs, concerts, clothes and the whole life style that comes with being downright redneck and here’s why!
1. Sunshine and Whiskey.
When I think of summer I think of sitting on the lawn at a country concert taking in the sun and sipping on something good. Country fans cannot deny that there is nothing better than taking out the corn hole game and pairing it with some good Jack Daniels while tailgating before a rockin country concert.
2. Chicken Fried.
Every group of people have an anthem right? Well all country fans know every word to Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried”. Y’all may not wan to admit that country music is good, but one of our anthems is about eating fried chicken with a cold beer in our hand and hell, I am a-okay with that. In fact, I’ll take seconds any day.
3. We’ve Got Friends in Low Places!
People can hate on country all they want but I have felt the southern hospitality right here in Jersey. Your ran out of beer? Some random guy at the tailgate has probably got you. Did you lose your friends at the concert? I am sure a southern gentleman won’t mind throwing you up on his shoulders to help you find your group. And there is nothing wrong with a southern sweetie sayin “Yes ma’am” and smiling your way.
4. “I love Jesus but I Still Drank Beer”.
Thomas Rhett said it himself and it is no secret, country fans love beer, and Jesus! And how can you hate on good looking guys who don’t cuss on a Sunday, with hot accents who give you a reason to crack open a cold one? You just can’t.
5. Country Men.
Now you don’t have to love country music to love country men, but how can you not? Is there anything sexier than a southern man serenading you on a jacked up black pick up truck with muddy boots? Shirtless?? If not, then you’ve never been to a Luke Bryan concert. If you’re not into the concert scene let a country cutie take you for a ride on his big green tractor and you will fall right in love.
6. Shut up and Fish!
You may have noticed that if you love country music, beer is probably somewhere in the mix. But hey, lots of country songs promote a good healthy lifestyle to work off all the liquid calories! Hunting, fishing, beaching, mudding. Whatever floats your fishin boat.
7. Good for a Good Time.
As Darius Rucker put it, “As long as there’s a party they’re my kind of people”. Living the redneck life is all about the free and easy life style. No stress, just good times.
8. Made in America.
Country music is a huge supporter of our troops and it is almost guaranteed that you will hear a “U.SA! U.S.A!” chant at any given concert. You may not love country music, but everyone loves this country. ‘Merica.
9. Different Kind of Fine.
Every music genre comes with its fashion styles and I think country has it the easiest. Throw on an old baseball cap and some jeans, shirt optional, and you’re good to go! That outfit will be perfect for any outdoor occasion.
10. Country Girl Shake It For Me!
Boys! You know there is nothing better than a tan girl drinking a tall boy dancing in her cut off short shorts on your tailgate. Country girls we run the world! And doesn’t that make listening to these southern songs that much better!?
